The DD-3 from Boss is a compact digital delay effects pedal for guitars and basses. It enables you to create different effects by delaying the instrument's signal between 12.5ms - 800ms. It's a great tool for varying the tone of your instrument, and for discovering creative new means of expression.

The DD-3 runs on a standard 9 volt battery, or on an optional PSA-series power adapter. It features a 1/4" input, and two 1/4" outputs. One output features the DD-3's delay effects when engaged, and the direct out features just the instrument's dry signal with no effect applied. This is useful when you want to pass your instrument's signal on to another effect or amplifier without the delay effect.

Comments about Boss DD-3 Digital Delay:

I purchased a Boss DD3 over a decade ago and I'm still discovering it's nearly infinite capacity for different settings and effects. When I recently tried to repair my old DD3, due to lack of battery connection, I found the remains of a dozen cockroaches and 3 live ones. I cleaned the pedal and returned it to service. It still works with the adaptor, but not the battery. It is crucial to my work as a street performer to have competent back up which I achieve by setting the DD3 on the "hold" position to create a funky riff-loop, upon which I can cut loose on guitar. Best digital delay stomp box ever, which is why I just purchased another DD3 for outside (battery) work. Thanks, Roland. By the way - the MicroCube (2watt)? Best street amp, hands down, and I should know.

Comments about Boss DD-3 Digital Delay:

I have used this on my harmonica playing Blues and it is just the think I needed to give a little professional crunch to my tone. Love it! It can also add lots of wild stuff if you choose but to me that feels like cheating. A harmonica with out amplification is a pretty sorry sound. An amplified harp without crunch is not quite what the audience wants. The settings give the player lots of control, great tone, easy to adjust. I set at different levels as the song tempo changes from slow blues to fast samba. Fun. Interesting. Magical. Inventive. Solid construction. I'm a mechanical engineer and think this purchase was quite a bargain. I use a Green Bullet mic, 57 Champ amp, this pedal and now the practice time and recording of such is very easy to justify and continue.
