I tested it out and it works well, although I had to reinstall it 3 times because windows vista could not recognize the dongle. After restarting the 2nd time, it appeared to work, and works well. I will be using it in my presentation, to see if the "70 feet" is a hard and fast measurement of its true range.

Based on the description, the VP4550 appeared to be the perfect presentation aid. Alas, it is poorly constructed and worked so poorly we had to stop using it. I am returning this item to the manufacturer.
First, the contacts in the battery compartment were so loose that the batteries didn't make contact, so it didn't work at all until we fixed the contacts ourselves. Worse, the buttons are so extremely sensitive that every time anyone touched one of the buttons the slides would advance 3, 4, 5 or more slides at a time. We couldn't get it to advance 1 slide at a time no matter how careful we were. In the end, none of our presenters could use it. Finally, the case & buttons are really cheaply made and I do not think it would hold up to constant use even if it worked properly.

Comments about Smk-link VP4550 RF Wireless Powerpoint Presenter with Laser Pointer:
This little device is handy and extremely easy to set up, but it is not worth the price unless you intend to use it often. It does have a built-in laser pointer and dongle storage slot, which I like, and a button to go to dark screen. However, it will not work with iPads. It will only work with computers with a free USB port for the dongle.
Comments about Smk-link VP4550 RF Wireless Powerpoint Presenter with Laser Pointer:
This presenter is easy to use. It works flawlessly and the laser pointer is an added bonus.

I purchased 7 of these for my team of teachers. We are all using it when scrolling through slides. Works as advertised...totally plug and play. No complaint so far. And I definitely like that it has the laser pointer built in.

I purchased this remote as a backup presenter for those occasions the one provided did not work - which isn't all that often. Finally this past Saturday I had to press it into action. One tiny problem a participant solved ... my seminar is transported on a flash drive, so it was plugged into a port and then they plugged the presenter into the port right above it. The presenter did not work - I was distraught - it was already too late to return it. Then a participant said, "Look for another port elsewhere and re-plug it in." It worked perfectly the whole day. It might advance a little too easily but no real complaints. Thanks for a really easy to use product at a great price!

I got this along with a digital projector that will be used by a non-profit group for programs about twice a month, with different speakers each time. This worked great, but it seems like there is a risk that the little wireless transmitter thing could get lost easily with multiple speakters who could forget to take it out of the laptop after a program, and thus we'd lose it.

I am using this for an Optometrist convention and it has been flawless. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the buttons are very sensitive and some presenters have blacked out the screen or exited the presentation accidentally. Kind of annoying, but you have to pay very close attention to what button you are pushing. aside from that I love it. and it works through a USB KVM on both a PC and MAC. Yeah!
