It is now very easy to change from my 24-70 and the camera mounted plate to the large zoom lens.
The camera with the 400mm does not work too well on the tripod when attached by the body of the camera.
Before I used to leave the Plate on the zoom and handhold on the smaller (but not lighter lens)

Rubber is already coming loose after 1 trip - 2 weeks in China. I cannot attach a camera to new Gitzo tripod without this plate. Does not hold camera (5D Mark II or 1DS MarkII) very well in vertical position.
After 30 years I will be looking for a non Gitzo tripod in the future.
Tricky to slide in and out of position as well. Almost had a body fall off the tripod after I mistakenly thought it was attached.

Doesn't get in the way of the larger one. I keep this permanently on the D700 camera body for short lenses.

Comments about Gitzo GS5370C Quick Release Plate with 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 Screws:
So I have a few lenses and cameras that I needed mounting plates for because I don't want to spend another grande on tripods. This is a great plate, very versatile with the 3/8th and 1/4th screw conversion. A bit pricey, but again, you kind of need to expect that if you're purchasing name brand gitzo. Overall, can't really complain much.

It works better than the old one I have. I decided to get a 2nd one to put on my tele lens's collar. Much easier for me to change camera/lens when using a tripod.

Comments about Gitzo GS5370C Quick Release Plate with 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 Screws:
I am from Canada and ordered this product, along with a RS-80N3 remote switch for my Canon 5D Mark II camera, a LP-E6 battery pack for Canon and a 8Gb extreme compact flash card, from B&H. The products perfectly met my needs and the order processing and delivery service from B&H was excellent, even though my order was of small scale. This is my second very satisfactory experience with B&H. I was able again to see that there is no small client for B&H.

Does the job what it is meant for. It is good to have an additional one fixed to the 70-200 lens. One comes with the Gitzo head which remains fixed with the camera body. Makes it easy and convenient to use.

As a Licensed Private Detective, Cameras and Long Range Equipment are active equipment for my business. I purchased from B&H recently a Gitzo Traveler Tripod, Gitzo Fluid Head and assortment of quick Change Mounting plates. The plates are permenantly attachedto my Canon 50D, Zeiss Diascope 85 mm, ITT Night Vision Equipment. An almost instant changeover for each specific item
