Nikon owners (Canon, etc, owners, experiment with this following idea to see if this flash unit works with your cameras in high syncs above 250th), this flash can be synced up to 8000th of a second. I bought this flash and could not get it to sync with my Nikon—at first. I tried everything (in camera): front or rear curtain, 30th-200, 250th, 320th, TTL, AA and non, built-in flash, M/A/S/P settings, etc., nothing on everything! Trying everything on camera settings. So then, I went to flash settings on my SB700 and 900's, I went to M, and went through M to P on my camera, but when I hit S (Shutter priority)—Bingo! It synced. Next, I saw that the scenes (indoor) were washed out, so I upped the shutter speed (in "S" setting, note or remember, you can not control your aperture, it sets to wide open) to 250, which is "suppose to be the max for syncing on this flash," but the scene was still washed out, so what the heck I thought—so I set the shutter for 640 and bingo again—it synced. And the exposure was close to correct. So I went to higher and higher shutter speeds, and it just kept syncing. So for you Nikon owners (mine is the D7000) set to "S" and put your external flash (mounted on the camera) on "M" (leave the camera in TTL settings) and adjust your shutter speed to match the distance to subject (by experimentation) and you now have ANY "shutter speed you want!" If you need to "freeze" action around 2-15 ft. (8000th to 320th shutter speed respectively)—you can.

I needed off camera lighting for sunset pictures, and I purchased this monolight with a softbox and it works perfectly. It's heavy enough to not blow over in the wind, yet light enough to carry.

performs as good as strobes four times as much. heavy duty. great for those abandoned, dilapidated, structures that don't have electricity. great for outdoor street scenes that don't have a plug. great for model runway that someone could trip over a wire and easily break your strobe or their neck. it's big, barely fits in a normal size backpack but fits with a protective cap for the strobe. accurate 1/16, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 and full charge settings.

This is just what I've been looking for in a monolight one that can operate on A/C or battery that doesn't break the bank. At 300 watt seconds it's plenty enough power for all of my needs. I like that it uses bowens S type bayonet to mount soft boxes and other lighting modifiers. I like the construction and ease of operation. although not a digital interface, adjustments are simple and repeatable.

I purchased this light to supplement 3 sb-900s used mostly for off camera flash. The cost was about the same for this entire set up with a soft box. The light is heavy, but very useful when more power is needed and an electrical outlet isn't available. The battery seemed pretty good, but I haven't had the opportunity to really max out it's capability as the shoot was pretty short in duration. I will likely purchase another battery in the future just to be prepared. This was a great value.

I would definitely buy another one if i can. Thanks to this product i do did not have to buy things seperately such as, lightstand, cord sync, and battery pack all for a reasonable price. I would reccomend this product to professionals and fellow begginners that are into studio photography.

I use this for indoor and outdoor photography.
Body feels sturdy and well assembled. It is a little Bulky when carrying two or more.
However the battery is small and light so vs other setups using batteries as big and heavy as car batteries id say the trade off is worth it.
Use a shoulder strap or carry bag and youll be fine.

I keep mine locked to the stand so setup/take down is quick and easy on public locations. Being able to go from battery to wall with a simple switch flip is a huge bonus. I use a car invertor to recharge the battery pack while driving to different locations. only real con is keeping track of the reflector cone as there is no way to attach it while using the travel cover for the bulb.

This monolight was used both in the studio and on location without any hitches! The battery pack , although small in size gave me more than 300 flashes at just above half out the put, and still had three bars of power left! I would definately recommend this to someone looking for a durable AC/DC monolight kit. This monolight is well put together!

This was exactly what I needed. I used it for an outside shoot with 3 models and 2 other Photographers. The light did really well. It fired 300+ pops on 1/3 power and I left with battery juice still left. It's made well and very sturdy construction. I liked it so much I purchased another one along with a carrying bag that holds two. The only negative thing I can say is that it's heavy. I'm thankful the carrying bag I got for it has wheels. If you plan on hiking with it or walking long distance with it you may want to reconsider. For the money it's an awesome light!

Periodically I need to shoot in a large atrium area that has no electrical outlets. The space taxes off-camera flash units and all my other monolights required AC power. So, I decided to try two 300w/s Stellar Xtreme kits. I couldn't be happier.

The softbox attachment system is strong and quick to set up. Interfit Octoboxes are a perfect match for these lights when shooting groups.

The Stellar Xtreme delivers and has helped to significantly improve the quality of photos in a tough, no-AC situation.

Comments about Interfit Stellar Xtreme 300 Watt/Second AC/DC Monolight Kit (120VAC/12VDC):

I bought this light for on location outdoor shoots. When I opened the box, I was surprised by the size. A little larger than I thought it would be. The included stand was a bit light weight, so I had to use one I had on hand. However, setup was easy and it performs great outdoors. I will buy another one.

Comments about Interfit Stellar Xtreme 300 Watt/Second AC/DC Monolight Kit (120VAC/12VDC):

First thing you notice about this thing off the bat is that its pretty big. After handling it a bit the size no longer matters and you set it up in no time. The casing seems solid and study. The only issue I had that held me back from giving it 5 stars is the stand it comes with is not sturdy enough for the large light. I used a heavy duty stand from impact and it does the job well.
