The Miniview KVM Switch from IOGEAR allows you to share a single keyboard, mouse, stereo speaker system, and monitor between two computers. Housed in a compact desktop form factor, the KVM Switch can work with computers that use USB connections for the keyboard and mouse and a VGA connection for the display.

It installs easily, with clearly labeled ports to connect cables. The KVM switch supports VGA resolutions of up to 2048 x 1536 pixels, allowing you to use the switch with large displays. This is a great solution for system administrators who need to access multiple computers with a single mouse, keyboard, and monitor.

2 Computers; 1 Desk
Web designers who often have to test pages on PCs and Macintosh computers, and video editors who use the Macintosh platform can still see the appeal of the gaming options available on Windows PCs. This KVM switch allows you to easily share a single monitor, keyboard, and mouse between multiple computers, regardless of your reasons.
USB and VGA Support
The KVM Switch works with computers that feature standard USB connections for input devices and VGA for display output. VGA resolution of up to 2048 x 1536 pixels is supported, making this a great solution even for large displays.
USB 2.0 Hub
The switch includes an integrated 2-port USB 2.0 hub. This allows you to share USB devices, such as hard drives, printers, and scanners, among connected computers.
Easy Switching
You can easily switch from one computer to another using physical push buttons, programmable hot keys, or an on-screen display. Not everyone works in the same environment, so offering different options for switching between this many computers is essential.

Comments about IOGEAR Miniview KVM Switch:

I am a total non-tech person. I wanted two computers to share a monitor, mouse, and keyboard but didn't even know such a product existed until a friend clued me in.

I was able to connect the monitor, mouse, and keyboard and switch quickly and easily between the two computers. It's a good thing it's easy and color-coded, though, because the manual is not really informative. I would also like to share a printer. The box says it can be done, but the manual doesn't say how.

Using this switch also made the front USB ports on my computer nonrecognizable. If this is supposed to happen or if this can be fixed, I could not find out.

Comments about IOGEAR Miniview KVM Switch:

Pros: Solid construction, with a practical design. It took me about 30 minutes to set it up, working very methodically and routing cables through a furniture piece. It worked from the moment I powered up the two computers. I have to manually activate the external VGA port on the old Toshiba laptop every time it goes to sleep, but that is not a shortcoming of the KVM switch. But left on, there is no need to do anything other than push the button on the switch, or (easier yet) use Hotkeys (ScrLK, ScrLk and Enter) to sequence the switch. I have checked the peripherals, and the two USB ports switch along with the keyboard, video and mouse. They can be switched separately, too.My desktop runs Windows 7 32 bit, and my old Toshiba Laptop is running Windows XP Professional. I need the laptop to run DayTimer 2000, my old PM program. The switch is about 5" wide, 1.75" tall, and 3" deep. I needed about 7" of depth to accommodate the cables.Cons: The print in the manual is fairly small. I used a magnifying glass, even with progressive contact lenses on. On the other hand, that saves on paper. Also, despite the rubber feet, the case can rock ever so slightly. However, with all the cables attached, it is rock solid in one place.Other Thoughts: I am very happy with the switch. I have nearly instantaneous access to two computers, including 15 years of appointments, phone calls, and data stored in my DayTimer program. The price was great from B&H[...]
