Product Highlights
  • 4-Computer KVM Switch
  • VGA
  • USB
  • Stereo Audio
  • USB 2.0 Hub
  • 4x Cables Included

The Miniview KVM Switch from IOGEAR allows you to share a single keyboard, mouse, stereo speaker system, and monitor between four computers. Housed in a compact desktop form factor, the KVM Switch can work with computers that use USB connections for the keyboard and mouse and a VGA connection for the display.

It installs easily, with clearly labeled ports to connect cables. The KVM switch supports VGA resolutions of up to 2048 x 1536 pixels, allowing you to use the switch with large displays. This is a great solution for system administrators who need to access multiple computers with a single mouse, keyboard, and monitor.

4 Computers; 1 Desk
Web designers who often have to test pages on PCs and Macintosh computers, and video editors who use the Macintosh platform can still see the appeal of the gaming options available on Windows PCs. This KVM switch allows you to easily share a single monitor, keyboard, and mouse between multiple computers, regardless of your reasons.
USB and VGA Support
The KVM Switch works with computers that feature standard USB connections for input devices and VGA for display output. VGA resolution of up to 2048 x 1536 pixels is supported, making this a great solution even for large displays.
USB 2.0 Hub
The switch includes an integrated 2-port USB 2.0 hub. This allows you to share USB devices, such as hard drives, printers, and scanners, among connected computers.
Easy Switching
You can easily switch from one computer to another using physical push buttons, programmable hot keys, or an on-screen display. Not everyone works in the same environment, so offering different options for switching between this many computers is essential.

Comments about IOGEAR Miniview KVM Switch:

Good things first: It is modestly priced, around $[$]. It looks solid and even has a cable to convert PS/S keyboard and mice to USB. It is reliable and fast. The only problem is that the USB port for Keyboard and Mouse does not work with Microsoft 6000, wireless keyboard and Mouse combo (meaning, use only one USB receiver for both). The keyboard work but not the mouse. I tried different combinations and, nope, did not work. I tried a wired keyboard and wired mouse, it works, so the ports are good.To make the story shorter, The tech support was evasive on whether you can use a combo or not. My problem is that a USB is a USB. The device should capture the signal, pass it to the computer on focus, then the computer should decide how to process it. That is why we have software and drivers. To be fair, I have read other reviews in other places on different brands and this seems to be a common problem. But, wait a minute! The IOGEAR switch has two other USB ports to install other devices, such as a printer which can be used by the computers hooked to the switch. What if I try it?. Voilá, it worked. I connected the combo USB receiver to the front USB port in the KVM switch and everything seems to be fine. That is, in my devices and printers screen in the Control Panel of each computer, now I have two mice listed (both 6000)and one keyboard. One mouse is OK. The other one has an admiration mark, saying that is not OK. Bur from the functional point of view, though, everything is OK. Tech support is polite but very evasive about this matter. They say that it works but not on all keboard/mice combos. I understand that, but, Microsoft 6000 is one of the standard unit in this category. How come? The unit has its own power supply and all the connections go behind the unit. I have 3 computers installed and I switch between two Windows 8.1 and 1 Windows 7. No problem.

Comments about IOGEAR Miniview KVM Switch:

I have 4 computers (3 PCs, 1 Mac) that use USB keyboards/mice, and have VGA display capability. I also have a USB 3D Connexions Space Navigator (a 3-dimensional motion controller used in Computer-Aided Design and Manufacturing applications (CAD/CAM)), and a USB headset with a microphone I use for VOIP (Skype, WebEx).

This KVM switch allowed to me to hook everything up, and share both the Space Navigator AND the USB headset/mic between all 4 systems. Everything worked right out of the box.

The only weakness I've encountered is that the delay in shifting computers using the soft keys takes a little longer than I expected (about 2 seconds vs. instantaneously), but other than that, it has worked without a glitch.

I like having the physical buttons on the front, in addition to the soft keys, for switching computers. Occasionally, the soft keys get confused and don't work (this has happened on all KVM switches with soft keys that I've ever owned, not just this one, so I don't consider it a fault with this particular product), but selecting the display manually using the physical buttons resets the soft keys, and everything is OK after that.

I have owned the IOGear MiniView 4-port switch for both work and home, and like this one better. It's not as stylish as the MiniView (it's got more of an industrial look to it), but overall, it is more functional.

For Apple Mac Pros. All Macs have the option VGA Pin. I didn't need the DVI mdl. Works just fine. It has usb pigtail PS2 adaptor thou not needed in this application. Don't need the Wall Wart pwr.ac brick at this time that came with unit either.
