It's great for just the lens, like the title says. Good belt pouch to carry for when I'm hiking or going around the city. I wanted to use it for my Canon 18-135mm IS lens, which fits, but if you have a hood on the lens it doesn't fit. I think I'll keep it for my 50mm lens. With a spare battery. Might get the next size up.

Comments about Pearstone Onyx 40 Lens Case:
I use this to keep my lenses dry. I has saved them multiple times from rain. The biggest lens i would put in here is a 200 max focal length lens which is what i use in the case and it fits like a glove. I also love the belt loop so that way my lenses are always at my side.

Using it for my Sony SEL55210 55-210mm lens, very tight fit with lens cap, filter and lens rear cap on, but does the job I need.

Comments about Pearstone Onyx 40 Lens Case:
I purchased this case so I could store and protect my Canon 18-55mm lens after I purchased another lens. I purchased it mainly because of the price, and was very surprised when I received it just how good the quality is. It has a very soft and padded lining that will protect even the best of your lenses. This is a quality cases for the price and I highly recommend it.

Comments about Pearstone Onyx 40 Lens Case:
Fits my Tokina 11-16 snugly. doesn't hold the lens hood, but I didn't expect it to. I bought 2 of these, and it also holds my Tamron 18-270 (old style)-- also without holding the hood. I feel both of these lens are secure and protected in these cases. I'm likely to buy more of these or other sizes as I build my lens inventory over time. B&H shipping was fabulous!

What I like about this len case, is its just the right size. If you are a person who does not like to carry a lot of camera equipment and bags, this len case can attach to your belt for easy carrying and its not heavy.

Fits my canon 85mm f/1.8 with a bit extra room for a very short lens or adapter. I feel much better now that I know my extra lens is protected. Didn't give it 5 stars cause it's a case.

Works fine, quality is okay. The only issue I sometimes have is that the zipper can be a little hard to open and close. otherwise it is nice and does the job.

Fits well with the Sony 55-120mm lens and lens shade. Would be helpful if the lens case could be hung vertically along the strap rather than horizontally only.

Comments about Pearstone Onyx 40 Lens Case:
I purchased this case so I could bring an extra lens with me and not have to lug around my whole camera bag. My Tamron 28-75 2.8 fits in there very well. I also used it to pack my 50mm 1.8 and my Canon 1.4x extender. They both fit in there with no problem. I use it at home to store my lenses when they are not on the camera.
I haven't had it too long so can't comment about its durability but it seems well constructed.

Comments about Pearstone Onyx 40 Lens Case:
Appears well made. This is the smallest Pearstone case and is way too big for my Pentax pancake 40 f2.8. However, I leave the lens in its original soft cover so it doesn't bounce around. There is a fair bit of space to store any bits and pieces.
Can be attached to a belt or shoulder strap.
I hang it from the strap of my Tamrac Pro Digital Zoom 10 Toploader which carries a K-5 with 300 f4 attached.

Comments about Pearstone Onyx 40 Lens Case:
I was purchasing a Tamron 18-270 lens for travel, and needed a case if I brought another lens along. This is a very nice padded case that fit the lens snuggly. Actually too snug because the case was too small to allow the lens hood to be placed in the case with the lens (backwards on the lens). I understand that there is no dimension given for the lens hood, so the saleperson went by the lens specs. It is not the product's fault. This is going back for a case that will fit both the lens and hood.
