Hoodman HoodLoupe Professional LCD Screen Loupe for 3" Displays
The Hoodman HoodLoupe Professional LCD Screen Loupe is used to make a close inspection of the review image displayed on your digital SLR LCD display. The LCD Screen Loupe isolates the cameras LCD display from ambient light so you will not be distracted by glare or shadows. This makes it easier to view image details quickly to confirm focus to ensure that you have the best image possible. It will provide full coverage of an LCD display screen up to 3.0" diagonally with a standard (4:3) aspect ratio.
By employing Hoodman's optional Cinema Strap, the HoodLoupe can be used as a professional viewfinder for video-capable DSLR cameras.

I mounted the HoodLoupe using a plate to hold it tight to the LCD of my P6000 while digiscoping. The diopter adjustment is outstanding, and the way it magnifies the screen and cuts down ambient light makes composing and shooting a breeze. I would not use this camera without the HoodLoupe. The only (minor) change I would like would be if I could lock the diopter at the setting for my own eye, but it takes only a second to readjust when it goes off focus from my stuffing it in the camera bag. btw, I mounted the Hoodloupe to a long plate by drilling 2 holes in the bottom. The plate has a long slotted opening that holds a tripod mount screw so that the plate can be screwed into the bottom of the P6000 camera. Works like a charm.

I shoot outdoors 100% of the time, and am usually sitting in direct sunlight. Checking focus and exposure with any sort of certainty was a real problem. I putchased the HoodLoupe Pro to allow for better viewing of my camera's LCD screens outdoors.
The HoodLoupe solves this dilemna quite well. I am a bit disappointed with the 'German glass" used in the product. I don't know why, but you have to position your eye perfectly in order to get a non-distorted view of the image. If you are offf axis, it is kind of like sighting through the bottom of a German bier stein.
Once your eye, the HoodLoupe anf the LCD screen are perfectly aligned, the resolution is excellent and allows for a thorough examination of the image on display. I just wish the "German Glass" didn't require such precise alingment.

I love this thing. Most of the point and shoot digital cameras don't have viewfinders, and if you can buy an add-on viewfinder to fit your camera, it will cost you about as much as the camera did. I was in Florida (sun) with my XZ-1, popped my 3" HoodLoupe up to the LCD screen and bingo!, I was taking fabulous photos. Plus these are great for help in framing that photo you can't compose in the sun with your no-viewfinder camera. Not to mention, it is certainly a less expensive way to solve the shooting-in-the-sun issue than buying the viewfinder for your camera IF your camera even has the ability to attach a viewfinder.

Awsome for veiwing you lcd outdoors, allthough indoors the magnification factor isn't much more than my eyes and doesn't make much of a difference. But essential for outdoors. I think I would rather have bought the collapsable model.

I use the Hoodman Loupe for viewing the LCD screens on my DSLRs. Its helpful when looking at the screen in bright daylight. Also, the magnification helps determine if the focus is correct. This model is supposed to fit a Nikon DSLR with a 3.2" LCD. It seems just a bit small, more like its OK with a 3" screen. I would recommend this to a friend, with some reservations. The optical quality of the magnifying lens is only so-so.

Great for viewing LCD display in bright sunlight.Also, I wear reading glasses which I don't like to use with the camera, making it difficult to review photos on the LCD even in low a light environment. The diopter adjustment on the HoodLoupe and the slight magnification makes reviewing photos on the LCD much more enjoyable.Would be a 5 star if it offered an *elegant* way of attaching it to the camera, but a valuable tool at a reasonable price nonetheless.

Difficult to use with a hand hold camera. Much easier to use when camera is on a tripod. I do not have the bungee strap to hold it on the camera. Optics are OK not as good as I expected.

I have not used it in bright sun as of yet due to the time of year. Although, I see no reason for there to be any issues. It is great to use and not have to carry reading glasses with me. I can see all camera controls fine but when I want to review a photo and see fine details and check for focus, this is handy.The price is a little steep for what it is, in my opinion, but It should be nice to block that bright sun.

I purchased this to help with viewing my LCD for photo inspection after snapping a shot. Turns out that its like looking through your view finder, so it does block the sun but you can't tell much about the shot you just took. Money waisted.

My primary use for this loupe iss to view the LCD in bright sunlight. It blocks out all the ambient light so that the screen shows up clear and bright so that I can visually edit. The only negative I have is the ring for adjusting for my visions could be tighter. It tends to move too easily.
