I bought the Tamrac 5625 specifically for a Nikon D300 with 18-200mm VR lens. At first it was a little tight in the Depth Dimension, but after a week of use it loosened up and now I like it. I have several Tamracs like this, either shorter or longer, and the Height dimension was the reason I bought this case, which nicely accommodates the 18-200mm with the lens hood. It is deep enough to remove the HB-35 lens hood, reverse it, and tuck it into the very bottom of the bag without having the lens hit it. I was surprised that a 70-300mm (non-VR) also fit in the bag mounted to the D300 without lens hood (in fact it also just barely fits with the 70-300mm with a nonstandard shorty HN-24 lens hood). The interior depth dimension given at Tamrac and by B&H was a typo, its not 3 ½ inches, it is really 4 ½ inches (depth is from the bottom of the camera vertically to the top of the flash on the pentaprism). Via email prior to ordering it, Tamrac confirmed the error, but the B&H page is not updated yet. The three pockets are enough for a couple of batteries, cards and a filter, etc. It’s a good bag if all you want is one single thing to carry around and have a few accessories.

I wanted a minimalist bag and that is exactly what I received. My Nikon 300S w/18-200 lens fits perfectly. Bag is well padded, has excellant workmanship and "metal hardware", however it's a shame a "Pro" bag has such a mediocre shoulder strap. Strap is non-padded with a small strip of "friction material" attached. Strap is "straight" not a "BioCurve Shoulder Strap" as described. I ordered Tamrac's wonderful "Classic Padded Leather Shoulder Strap" and now have a very nice "rig," but very pricey! A bag called "Pro" should include a better shoulder strap.

Comments about Tamrac 5625 Pro Digital Zoom 5 Bag:

This bag appears to be solidly built of good materials. It is plenty large to carry a DSLR with 55-300 lens attached. I use this for day hikes and backpacking when I don't need a lot of gear. It easily holds needed filters, spare batteries, memory cards etc... I carry a second lens in a separate lens pouch on the same belt.

Comments about Tamrac 5625 Pro Digital Zoom 5 Bag:

I really like this bag. I have a bigger bag to keep all my stuff in one place but I don't really need to carry that every time to go to shoot. This bag is the right size for my Canon T4i with a 24-100 lens with the hood on in the right direction. I don't have to turn the hood backwards to get it to fit. It is easy to quickly get the camera in and out of the bag. There are just enough pockets to carry essentials - battery, filters, and memory cards. It can be closed quickly with the clasp or if it is raining and you want more protection you can zip and clasp the bag.

I can also use it with my longer 70-200 f4L zoom lens and the lens hood backwards. It won't quite zip all the way but it will zip to where the top can be latched and the camera is not open to the elements.

There is plenty of room for a wider camera also. I don't have a full frame camera but it think it would probably fit.

I use the belt loops to put through a regular web belt that I purchased at an outdoor store. I purchased the M.A.S.T system belt but found it hard to get on an off the belt. It works fine on the regular belt. I also use the should strap if need to grab the camera quickly. I use the belt when I am hiking.

I purchased this bag for my Nikon D600 DSLR + Nikon AF-S 28-300/3.5-5.6 ED VR lens. This combination fits like a glove (with the lens hood in reverse position and a UV filter on the lens). There's ample room to store a couple of extra batteries, SD cards and a Pola filter.
I like the fact that the bag not only has a zipper but also a clip to shut it closed, so to store it away for a while, I use the zipper, but when walking around I just use the clip lock for quick access to the camera.

This camera bag is terrific. Very high quality, rugged, well padded works extremely well. I got the first one to carry my canon 60d slr with an 18-135 zoom lens attached. The zipper pockets hold spare battery, USB cord, extra memory cards, lens cleaning cloth, lens filter, and camera booklet with room to spare. the second bag it for my canon 6D with a 24-105 zoom lens, 270 flash,USB, battery, and memory. It carries very comfortable - with the camera right at hand - easy to pop in and out of the bag. This is a compact package that makes it easy to carry a large SLR with a big zoom lens anywhere. Great value. Cons - none.

I have an 8 year old Tamrac 5684 that I use for my Canon 40D or Rebel Ti1 with a 28-135 Lenses, So with the purchase of the Canon 5D mark III with 24-105mm f/4L, I needed a good bag with just a little more room. Love the zip pockets and media management system. Room for my extra battery on one side and filters on the other. If I need to pack for a trip I can fit the charger and video cable to review or show on a TV. I have some other bags but the cover with a clip will keep the Camera in place when on the move. I added some Velcro to replace a broken clip on the old bag and may do the same to the new one as well. The flap covers over the bag and does a better job at keeping out the snow and rain then bags that just zip. I prefer this bag design for working on the snow or other locations wherever you need quick access to you camera and still want to protect your investment from the elements. Pack the camera neck strap and zip and clip the cover and it's about as safe as its going to get. I still put the whole thing in a another dry bag if I go on fishing or sailing, or in a big padded backpack for the airplane.

The bag is easy to carry although slightly bigger than I anticipated. Given the large size of the camera and lens, the bag is really the right size for my needs. Works very well for me.

The pocket on inside of the top carries cleaning gear for lens and filters, and a filter remover. For my needs, I can't think of anything negative to say about it.

I needed to cary my 60D with a 24 to 70 2.8 zoom with me on my bike. It goes over my shoulder and I put it behind me and it stays while I ride my bike. It does not swing around front. The rubbery parts of the bag help it stay put. I was worried about the size of my new camera and the size of the bag but it works well and offers great protection compared to my older cameras and bags.

This bag ended up being bulkier than I expected. It has a good build quality and protects the camera well. For my 7D w/ 16-85 EF-S lens attached, it is a little longer than necessary.

This is a well padded camera bag. Problem is the zipper and hood cover are a little awkward to get into both quickly.
Not enough storage for other things. This is the main draw back if you are wanting anything much more than the camera and macro lens

I was very excited about this bag because I so often need a "day bag" where I just bring along my Canon 40D and maybe one lens, extra battery, memory card, and a cleaning wipe.

Upon first getting the bag It was the perfect size. I could easily fit my camera with my Canon 100mm macro IS L attached, and a foam separator (not included) on top and my Canon 50mm 1.4 laying on top. with memory cards, batteries, etc.

BUT, I hated how difficult it was to get into the bag. The extra flap over the top that latches is unnecessary and the spot where the strap attaches on both sides causes the bag straps to be in the way when you're trying to access the zipper. To me this is a big deal because I don't like having to fuss with gear.

Good miminalist bag for the Canon 5d and the EF 24-105 L series zoom lens. In fact it leaves a small amount of space at the top even with the reversed lens hood attached. There is a zipper pocket in the lid of the bag and you can custom cut an insert from a mouse pad to add extra protection for the back of the camera. I like to leave a microcloth covering the LCD of the camera.

The side pockets can hold one 77 mm filter in its box or several with 77mm stacker caps. A circular polarizer and a 0.9 ND filter on stacker caps fits well into one pocket with a lipstick brush to dust them off in the bottom of the same pocket. These side pockets have internal catch pockets half way down. On one side I use a small IR remote trigger in the catch pocket and put a spare battery in the bottom of the pocket.

I like to use a simple belt strap as with all such cases to keep it from suddenly flopping around when I bend over.

The camera strap is always a problem and I have been using the Tamrac series of detachable straps that use fittings which go on the camera and allow the strap to be snapped on and off. The strap I fold three times and attach to the bag handle with a single velcro strap where it is handy, even a fairly wide one.

This is a good minimum carry bag for the Canon 5d mark II, minimum accessories and several different kinds of the larger L-series Canon lenses such as the EF 25-105 L, If you use the simple waist belt idea you can even sneak on a Lowepro 1S or similar case for a small non-L series lens like the 55mm compact macro. The side pockets are fat enough you can easily insert a 12 mm EF12 II extension tube with body and rear caps on it. Or a 270 EX flash since its bent shape kind of form fits.
