The duet:BREAKOUT from Duet Breakout is an upgrade for Apogee's Duet portable interface. Providing durability with professional quality, the breakout box replaces the breakout cable originally shipped with the Duet, making the system far more road-worthy and compact.
One of the many advantages the unit brings to a live setup is the absence of "cable twisting" that the original interface cable is prone to. While not an issue for the studio situation, the use of the duet:BREAKOUT eases connectivity and early cable failure in the rough environment of the touring musician.

Great add-on for Duet, doing away with the clunky factory breakout cable. Great quality, well built, appears bullet- and idiot-proof. Included DB9 cable is a bit short, but may be just the thing for some users. I use a longer VGA monitor cable, which works perfectly (even though they say it's "different" - it isn't)

If you own an Apogee Duet, this is something you need. The cables that come with the Duet are very prone to failure and are just troublesome to handle in general. The breakout box works and makes setting up so much sturdier and simpler. Build quality is excellent and there's a good warranty that comes with it.

This product is well made and makes it easier to identify and connect the TRS and XLR connections. While my original Apogee breakout cable hasn't failed as yet, I'll be hauling this breakout box on road trips, and keep the Apogee cable as a backup.

The Breakout Box is marketed as a heavy duty and less cumbersome replacement for the breakout cable that comes with the Apogee Duet audio interface. It does exactly what they say it does. I recommend it to anyone who hates tangled up cables or wants an option a little more heavy duty than the breakout cable. It also has a nice handmade appeal, like some of those guitar pedals.
