Used with Canon Vixia HF-G10. A great battery. A bit pricy compared to generics, but has much higher mAh then generics do so lasts about 40 minutes of record time more. One thing to consider is that the battery sticks out pretty far from the back of the camera making the viewfinder difficult to use and adjust as needed. The battery is in the way. Also, not a complaint about the battery itself, but with the camera design. The release for the battery is on the bottom of the camera so to change the battery, you must remove the tripod quick release plate from the camera to get to the battery release!

The battery included with the Canon XA10 lasts an hour at most. This battery provides much needed additional life. When you adjust some of the settings ie the LED monitor you can get approximately 3 hours out of it. Makes you wonder why they don't just include this battery with the XA10. It's great!

Thank goodness I purchased this add-on battery for my Canon G10. It's expensive, but it lasts 4+ hours of HD shooting; I actually purchased two of these, to make sure I have coverage for all-day events. I may even get a third to make sure I can make it through a weekend.

Yes, the Canon brand-name product is more expensive, BUT the mili-Amp hour rating on this battery is better than those of substitute products. It is RELIABLE. Whatever you do don't search the web to find the very inexpensive Asian products. You really don't know what you're getting and I got burned big-time. Products sold by B&H are genuine. Just look at the "mAh" rating to see what you are actually selecting.

I own a Canon Vixia M40. The battery that comes with the camera lasts less than an hour, so I needed something with more staying power. This battery, although it does stick out of the back of the camera a little bit, lasts for several hours (over 5 usually). It is an actual Canon battery, so it will communicate with your camcorder (and charge in the camcorder if you don't have an external charger). The only con is the size, but that doesn't really matter to me.
