The D'SAN Corp. LSP-1 Laptop SoundPort is a compact in-line adapter that converts a computer's audio output (typically 3.5mm stereo mini) to a balanced mono mic-level signal. I work in the audiovisual word and the SoundPort has made things a little easier for me. Before the soundport I needed a mixer and a D.i. Box to play sound from the laptop without line noise The SoundPort has elimanated the need for those items and works as an all in one device. The SoundPort elimanates the line noise and allows for volume control. To use the procuct all you need is an XLR cable to run from the port to the house sound wall jack and you are in business.

I've been using it on a weekly basis for about 6 months and it works OK and happy with it. However,the cable or wiring started to have problems and wouldn't work unless you find a good position for it to work. It must have been caused by constant packing and curling the cables to store them. I hope they improve on this considering it's price. I would have given this a high rating if not for the problem I mentioned.

Use on corporate events to connect laptops to a sound desk. Passive so no need for phantom power. Nice and clean sound with inbuilt volume control. Perfect product which removes the need for expensive DIs to connect laptops, iphones and ipods to professional equipment.

I've been using it on a weekly basis for about 6 months and it works OK and happy with it. You never know what kind of audio equipment you'll have to connect to and the LSP-1 produces a controllable, reliable, clean balanced XLR output that anybody's audio board can handle. The integrated volume control enables you to manage your sound without having to depend on an audio tech (because there often isn't one). I highly recommend this product.
