This Lensbaby Double Glass Optic is part of the Lensbaby Optic Swap System - a line of camera lenses that incorporate a simple lens with a bellows or ball and socket mechanism for use in special-effect photography. It is fully compatible with Lensbaby Composer, Muse, & Control Freak Lenses.
The Double Glass Optic mounts to the front of the lens to provide an extremely sharp "sweet spot" with surrounding areas appearing diffused or out of focus. The Double Glass optic is multi-coated optical glass and has a high refractive index. It can be interchanged with the Muse, Composer, and Control Freak lenses to provide artists with an almost unlimited variety of looks and styles to capture their unique visions.

Comments about Double Glass Optic for Lensbaby Composer, Muse, & Control Freak Lenses:
I got this Lensbaby optic because I bought the Composer pro with the Sweet 35. The Sweet 35 lens has no options on putting the macro kit and the creative aperture kit. With the Double glass optic, you can use these added accessories, and can be more creative with your photos. I used it for this Christmas holiday and I got alot of wonderful photos, most specially with the colorful lights all around. This is a nice, simple and easy lens that is a must for all Lensbaby users. You cannot have a Lensbaby and not have this! Its cheap too! GET IT!

Comments about Double Glass Optic for Lensbaby Composer, Muse, & Control Freak Lenses:
There is not a huge difference between this and the more recently introduced 'sweet 35' that also own. The only way to adjust the aperture in the double glass is by means of changing the internal disk. This seems somewhat crude. Also, no other aperture disks or tool to change aperture is included – hence the 4 stars. What you have is an f4.0 lens with a sharp centre and blurred edges. The sweet 35 is much more flexible as it has a variable aperture included.

I find it really easy to get super-sharp focus with the Lensbaby Muse when I am using this optic. Really glad I spent the money on it.
