First of all there are over 500 key commands and keyboard shortcuts in Pro Tools and you have to have a keyboard to use them. With a regular keyboard you can access these time saving gems but you'd have to know them by heart and that takes time. In fact it takes a whole lot of time; time from your artists and from the art. Nothing like taking a few extra seconds here and there from every song you track, edit, and mix. Seconds become minutes and then hours of lost time. Having the right tools makes all the difference for any job, and if you have the Pro Tools, you need to be able to access them easily. Over 500 key commands and shortcuts are right there at your fingertips and you wouldn't even know where to reach for them unless you had all of them labeled with an icon to tell you what they're used for and then color coded so you would remember them. This keyboard is all that and then some! It has little pictures of shortcuts that you can associate with the command, and then the color just drives it home. Second best thing about it is that it has two USB ports built into the keyboard itself so you can put those new mixes on a jump drive without looking for a place to plug it in. I recommend this to all of you Pro Tools users out there unless you're just not serious about your time and your music. This thing is a bargain at any price since time is either spent or wasted. Remember that time = money and the money you'll spend on this will save you so much wasted time that It'll pay for itself over and over again.
