The Porta Brace HB-12DV CAM Mini DV Camera Strap (Brown) is a 2.0" wide camera strap with suede leather shoulder pad designed to carry various camcorders. Special 1/2" webbing is permanently fastened to the slots on light-weight Mini DV cameras. The quick connect swivel hooks provide a fast, convenient and secure way to attach this comfortable, padded camera strap.

The strap is of excellent quality but it's a case of not quite going far enough. The strap is their basic shoulder strap and comes with two little loop straps that you put through the normal camera strap holes on the camcorder.
The clips are large, chunky things and a bit oversized for the job but I don't feel totally safe clipping them onto the litle 1/2" straps. It would be better to have designed some sort of metal clips or rings to use as the interface between strap and camera.

I bought this for a run and gun shoot where we walked miles covering the High Point Furniture Market. the strap was a life saver!!! it never felt insecure and felt just a comfortable and safe as the bigger ones for the bigger broadcast cameras. I was a little concerned that it uses a belt loop type connections for the supporting straps, but they never slipped and the metal clips added a bit of comfort.

Exactly what I needed. I shoot a lot of video with my HDSLR, I was getting tired of taking the OEM camera strap on and off. The Porta Brace strap makes it much simpler to snap on and off through the included loops that attach on my Canon 7D.
No more do I have to un-loop the Canon strap and waste precious production time.

I am using this strap with a HDV cam. The size of this strap is much larger than I anticipated, and easily dwarfs the size of my camcorder. This is mostly due to the ample padding, which makes it comfortable.
However, due to the size of this strap, it will limit its utility for me.
