The Sekonic Exposure Profile Target II provides the photographer with an easy, reliable and fast way to test your camera's sensor. Sensors, being as touchy as they are, can be subject to a variety of influences when shooting. This target gives you the chance to find out exactly where your sensor falls on the exposure scale.

By making three basic exposures (one centered, one at +3 and one at -3), you can easily find the right exposure for any camera lens combination.

Note! Compatible with Data Transfer Software as well as the 758DR and 758C meters

I tried to use the original Sekonic Target to calibrate my L-758DR meter. What an ordeal! I gave up. Too many exposures to take, too much to do. It was a good idea gone wrong!

With Version 2 of the software (free download) and Target II it took me about 15 minutes to calibrate one body for both ambient and flash, over two ISOs. Much much better!

I only wish Sekonic had gotten it right the first time, or had offered those of us who bought Target I an upgrade path instead of buying a whole new target.

If you get Sekonic L 758DR and you want to profile your camera Dynamic Range, you are looking to spend 160$ for a piece of paper that is NOT durable. Make sure NO hand oil print, No humidity and NO bending, I'm really disappointed by the quality of it compare to X-Rite Color Checker Passport and its price 130$.
I live in Canada and cost for returning this is not worth it , I feel betrayed by Seckonic, target card should be included in L 785DR package not something you buy separately.

Comments about Sekonic Exposure Profile Target II:

This is truly an expensive chart but it,together with the Sekonic Data Transfer software, makes profiling a camera for use with the Sekonic L-758 light meters pretty simple. What I do is mount the chart on a board in the shade outside. This gives me very even illumination. Then, I take 5 exposures: the one suggested by the light meter, -8EV, -4EV, +4EV, and +8EV. The Data Transfer Software then computes the profile and, from there, you can display it, compare it with others, print it, and download it into your Sekonic 758 meter. The clipping and dynamic range information for YOUR camera is then displayed on the meter and you can explore various readings in your scene to determine where they land on your camera profile. That is, you can determine if there are areas in your scene that will underexpose or overexpose at the current setting. As you get used to it, this can also help you visualize the final photo by telling you how various areas of interest will expose ... zones anyone? The chart and the software make the profiling quick and easy. Neat !Camera profiling is, perhaps, clearly useful for landscape photography. I also do some sports photography (horse shows) and find the use of camera profiles helpful for planning photos. There is no time to use this when action is taking place but there is time to analyze the lighting before the event and plan your exposures accordingly. Many horse shows take place in very poor lighting conditions (lots of sunlight and lots of shade and important info in both areas) and the use of flash is often discouraged. Using the camera profile helps plan where to take photos from ... where you can be so that you get a scene you want with an exposure you can produce a nice photo from.I don't do wedding photos but I imagine this useful there as well.

An easy way to either manually or using DTS sofware to caculate the the Dynamic Range of your camera. This is a must to know information for all landsacape photographers about their camera. This will help to keep the highlight at tip of Dynamic Range there by rescuing shadows falling on clipping area (zone 0 in digital zone system).

Comments about Sekonic Exposure Profile Target II:

This like so many things in this industry seams overpriced, carry over from when these kinds of things were only used/needed by the wealthy.Anyways i don't think this is worth it if you want to just profile a single camera once.If you intend to profile multiple cameras and different settings and with different lenses and you want your measurements to accurate then this start looking less expensive compared to the milage you'll get out of it.If you only need to do it once then get the Target One version and take 50 exposures, if you only want a ballpark profile then use the passport instead. If you're insane like me get this and profile every variable imaginable.Another complaint I've seen is that it is not very durable, they are right it is not. But this is not the kind of chart I'd take outside of the area I test with.

Very helpful in calibrating your Sekonic Meter to your specific camera and lens configuration. With the free software from Sekonic you can customize your meter to your camera and adjust your clipping points to within 2/10 - 3/10 of a stop if you desire giving you the most dynamic range from your readings and allowing you to adjust your exposure based upon those readings for your own personal style.

Very expensive for what you get. It does not come with a good protective case, so it can easily become bent or get fingerprints on when pulling out of the sleeve. It does however make calibrating the meter easier by only needing 3 exposures.

Used to calibrate my Sekonic light meter, it's light weight but won't get blown away by the wind very easily if used outdoors. Comes sealed in an envelope with thick cardboard so it doesn't get bent. When it arrived in the mail, despite all the airbags and cardboard to keep the item flat, it was slightly twisted but a few small bends in the opposite direction fixed this up. I would not have purchased anywhere else even if I knew this before.
