Comments about Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1850 PCI Express TV Tuner for Windows:

This is the only t.v. card (out of 5) that works properly. It's great and I really like it. The t.v. programs it receives are another matter.

Easy to install. It worked right out of the box.

What's not so great? Too many commercials.

Comments about Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1850 PCI Express TV Tuner for Windows:

I used this to set up a DVR-type set-up with an older computer tower I had around.

I'm really enjoying the set-up that I have. On advice from a friend, I did not install the Hauppage software, but am using Media Center instead. From what I've read online, the Hauppage interface isn't very user friendly or pretty.

I've been watching recorded TV through it for a week now. The quality is fairly good. I would say it is probably about 5% less than what it is through regular cable. This is because of Comcast, and how EVERYTHING needs to run through their cable box. It came with a remote. :-) The only downside is that my girlfriend has subscribed to some lousy shows. LOL.

Seriously though, this is a GREAT investment, we love having the computer at our fingertips while watching TV, not paying for DVR service, and being able to have all of our media in one place. I'd suggest investing in a long range keyboard and mouse to make your browsing experience even better.
