  • Titanium-Plated Drivers
  • MU Metal Shielding
  • Velvet Speed-Switch Earpads
  • Two Detachable Cables
  • Hard Storage Case Included

The PRO 900 headphones from Ultrasone provide professional-quality audio in a lightweight and comfortable design. The headphones can fold down into the included hard case, which also has room for storing accessories. The headphones are fully adjustable, and have comfortable velvet around-ear speed-switch earpads. A spare pair of earpads are included.

The headphones use large 40mm titanium-plated drivers to provide the most exact sound reproduction possible, with a wide frequency response that offers deep bass and crisp treble, ideal for monitor reference, engineering, and mastering. The headphones use Ultrasone's proprietary S-Logic Natural Surround Sound PLUS technology to provide a realistic soundscape, creating the impression that you're listening to high-quality speakers that are actually several feet away. This technology also produces the same perceived volume levels at a lower dB rating, allowing you to set the volume on your player a bit lower, potentially reducing the risk of hearing damage.

Other great features of the PRO 900 include MU metal shielding, which reduces radiation emission by up to 98% compared to other similar headphones on the market. This is an excellent feature for users who spend a great deal of time using headphones. The headphones include two ultra-soft single-sided detachable cables; one straight and one coiled. Each cord has a standard 1/4" stereo plug for compatibility with a variety of devices.

Pro-Quality Sound
Large 40mm titanium-plated drivers provide exact sound reproduction, ideal for monitor reference, engineering, and mastering. Combined with Ultrasone's S-Logic Surround Sound Technology, this puts you right into the center of the music. Instead of piping sound directly into your head, the S-Logic technology creates a rich and detailed soundscape that seems more like you're listening to live music than headphones.
Safer Listening
In addition to providing a realistic sonic experience, the S-Logic technology provides the same loudness sensation as other headphones, with an up to 40% lower dB output. This lets you set the volume lower on your music player, and potentially reduce the risk of hearing damage.
Ultra Low Emissions
The PRO 900 headphones have ULE technology with an MU metal bufferboard to significantly reduce the amount of electromagnetic emissions produced by the headphones; up to 98% less than standard headphones. This is excellent for professional users who spend the majority of their day wearing headphones.
Comfortable Design
The fully-adjustable headband and velvet around-ear speed-switch earpads provide long-lasting comfort. A spare pair of earpads are included.
Portable Design
The headphones fold down easily into the included hard case for convenient storage and travel.
Detachable Cables
Two ultra-soft single-sided detachable cables are provided; one straight and one coiled. Each cord has a standard 1/4" stereo plug for compatibility with a variety of devices.

I purchased the Pro 900's specifically as a pro mixing reference in studios I am not familiar with as well as using them in my home studio. The" S-Logic" moves the sound slightly out of your head which allows me to mix make more accurate panning than with normal headphones. I use the 122dB Redline Monitor along with them to really make the sound appear in front of me as if they were my studio monitors. After a bit of tweaking this combination gives me the closest possible equivalent to having a pair of speakers in front me without waking the neighbors.
Two words of caution, the bass response without the redline monitor is a touch too thick and the the hi mids can get a tad harsh if you crank them up. Otherwise the accuracy and detail is astounding. They are the only headphones I've ever used for hours on end without feeling fatigued!
They are very solidly built and can easily stand the rigors of studio abuse.
One bit of advice, don't let anyone else in your studio use them, you'll never get them back...

Comments about Ultrasone PRO 900 Closed-Back Professional Headphones (Unbalanced):

These are some excellent bass-head headphones. The sound is extremely clear, with an extremely tight, deep, well-textured and impactful bass, a clear midrange, and a very detailed high end. The mids are recessed, so if you don't like a V shaped frequency curve, then steer clear from the PRO 900. The highs can get a bit extreme at times, but I wouldn't call it harsh or piercing... I actually find it quite enjoyable. As well, the soundstage is excellent for a closed headphone, and the lows, mids and highs are all seperated very well. The PRO 900 are also very comfortable imo, and can wear these for hours, because of the soft velour padding. They look great, with the all black matte finish and the aluminium ear cups. Even though these headphones are efficient, I HIGHLY recommend an amp, such as an FiiO E11, which will drive them more than fine. Also, the PRO 900 are not the most portable, as they are pretty darn big. Overall, excellent headphones which I wholeheartedly recommend.

Comments about Ultrasone PRO 900 Closed-Back Professional Headphones (Unbalanced):

I own a B&W P5 that I have been using with my Ipod classic for over 3 year.
I purchased the Ultrasone PRO 900 with the Fiio E17 headphone amplifier in order to get an improvement in sound quality from the P5, particularly bass since it is what the P5 misses the most.

          Built:
The Pro 900 come with a very nice case, additional earcups, two cables, they are built like a tank (made in germany) and are very comfortable on your head

          Sound:
The bass is VERY powerful and it has lots of details and you feel that the Fiio E17 is a real help to drive those monsters .
But Bass is about the ONLY good thing with them.

High frequencies are of an average quality BUT mediums are too recessed, really... It feels like they are inexistant!

I returned them to B&H and I plan to purchase Beyerdynamic T 70 p or maybe stick with my P5 which in the end provide a much better value than these Pro 900

This headphones still gets 2 stars for the amazing build quality

Currently I use the headphone out of either my Iphone 4s or through my xonar DX on my computer using Foobar2000.

The headphone is a bit light on bass and clarity when just out of the Iphone 4s. I hope to get an amp because I know they will really shine when powered properly, or so I've read. The bass is amazing on these and at night i find that it's hard to take these headphones off to get to bed on time lol.

These sound simply amazing with Dubstep, it's unreal. Definitely worth the price..

Sometimes they can get a bit uncomfortable for extended period of time but I wear them for hours on end.

I use these to listen to music from my macbook and my galaxy s2. I also play drums with them on. These headphones produce an amazing, natural surround sound. They have plenty of power. The lows are refined and sound awesome. All around they're great headphones with a durable, sleek design and they're very comfortable. I don't use an amplifier but I'm sure they'd sound even better. I own audio technica-es7 headphones as well. These are obviously on a whole other level. They're expensive but I don't think I could've picked a better pair. The only thing I would want to change is the size. They're big cans. Bigger than the beats, I believe.

The separation (highs, mids and lows) are right in pocket, it has a nice bass that is not overbearing and it never distorts. I highly recommend these headphones for mixing any genre of music... Thanks B&H!!!! (They have the BEST price anywhere, believe me, I have looked)

These headphones live up to their reputation of being the king of bass. My pleasant surprise is that there is no sacrifice of midrange or treble to achieve it. Mids and highs are still clear with no bleed over from the thumping bass. I do recommend a good headphone amplifier. I use the FiiO E17, mostly with an iPhone 4. The bonus is that these headphones are extremely comfortable.

I was on a job recently and the guy doing audio sweetening had a pair of the Ultrasone PRO 900's, everyone who heard them purchased them. Yes, everyone. These cans are comfortable enough to wear all day. You get the same even mix, including the bass, loud as when you have them turned down. The bass is part of the mix, not drowning out everything else, like I said, nice even mix. I am going to use these for recording interviews on location. Normally I use closed ear phones, while PRO900's are over the ear, they have foam pads that do not block out all the external sound, nor do they keep all the sound in. That is annoying to my daughter when she is doing her homework, but I think they will work fine in the field, providing I am monitoring the interview and not rockin' out to the classic hits.

I didn't even get into how the sound is coming from in front of your ears. Do some research, then come back and purchase them here at B&H. I get all my pro-gear here and even some home toys too. (I have no affiliation with B&H, nor am I getting paid in any way or fashion)... I am just a fan.

Before I bought these headphones I had some Bose ones that were about 5 years old and starting to fall apart. I looked around the internet and decided I would buy these Ultrasone's. Plus B&H had the best price anywhere I could find. Everywhere else they wanted over $500+ up here in Canada. Now good things:- Very durable, made out of nice thick plastic-They are quite comfortable once you put them on, my Bose I had before would hurt my ears/head after about an hour of wearing them, these I could probably wear all day.-The sound these put out is nice and clear, with more of an emphasis on bass.-They sound good out of my iPod/iPhone but I would recommend using an external amp to get the best sound out of these.-They have changeable ear pads, and come with a spare set and also a carry case.-They have a removable cable that screws into the headphone, very nice idea (the connectors are also gold plated). The bad things:-They are quite expensive.-They aren't very portable.-More for sitting and listening, not to sure these would good for putting on and going for a walk.

It is definitely a great product. I was nervous when I heard the headset is made with plastic. However, do note that these are durable plastic, and it's made in Taiwan instead of China (hopefully that will mean better quality). The bass on these are amazing. My head is a little small (asian). I find that the smallest setting on the headset still tend to be rather large. No discomfort after hours of wearing them though. (Simply feels rather loose on my head)

Great headphones! If your a fan of techno, trance, dubstep, hip-hop, and electronic music then these headphones are perfect for you. They play everything great, but the bass hits really good with these headphones so they are perfect for music with a lot of bass. Can't go wrong with these headphones.
