The Smith-Victor CF100 55" Carbon Fiber Tripod with BH2 Ball Head bundles the Smith Victor CF100 tripod legs with the BH2 Ball Head. The CF100 represents the smaller carbon fiber support in the Smith Victor Black Diamond series. It is best suited for smaller SLRs, point & shoot, and compact video cameras. It is also the most pack-able of the series.
The CF1 is a lightweight tripod that uses carbon fiber technology for its leg construction. Carbon fiber is significantly lighter than aluminum, yet still maintains the same support level. It will absorb vibrations better than aluminum.
This CF-series tripod features individual leg angle adjustments, a reversible center column with spring loaded weight hook, foam leg grips, retractable spiked tips, and includes a well padded shoulder strap and carrying case.
The Smith-Victor BH2 Ball Head with Quick Release is a rugged and well-designed ballhead. All knobs feature a comfortable knurled rubber gripping surface. In addition to the large single-action locking knob, the BH2 also features two smaller knobs. One controls the 360° panning control, and the other the amount of ball friction.
The BH2 Ball Head comes with a universal quick release clamp that is compatible with all Arca-type plates. It comes with one plate, but can also be used with any of the many other industry-standard Arca-Swiss plates available from Arca-Swiss, Kirk, Wimberly, Really Right Stuff, Foba, Novoflex, etc.

Comments about Smith-Victor CF100 55" Carbon Fiber Tripod with BH2 Ball Head:
Really love this tripod. Sturdy, flexible and better than any other tripod I've owned (even more expensive ones).
It looks great with really nice detailing, quite light-weight although for Carbon Fiber I expected it to be lighter. The box it arrives in is huge but it really is quite small collapsed.
I'm 6ft3 and it won't reach my eye height however it's perfect for use with waist level cameras and would be fine for regular SLR's if you're a little shorter or don't mine stooping a little.
The joints are twist-to-loosen not clips. This was new to me and I unscrewed one all the way which resulted in a little re-construction needed. Be sure that you only ever unscrew each joint by a turn or 2. It will come loose :)

Comments about Smith-Victor CF100 55" Carbon Fiber Tripod with BH2 Ball Head:
Lightweight, strong, and versatile. Theses carbon fiber sticks are just right for the lightweight Nikons. Setup from inches to feet. I haven't used it too much in the field yet, but from the looks of things, this was a good buy.

Comments about Smith-Victor CF100 55" Carbon Fiber Tripod with BH2 Ball Head:
This tripod is built very well. It has everything I wanted in a tripod without breaking the bank. IT comes with a carrying case and carrying strap. The tripod is light but strong. The quick release base for the camera has a screw head that needs a coin or a tool to tighten. A tool-less screw would be a great improvement.

Comments about Smith-Victor CF100 55" Carbon Fiber Tripod with BH2 Ball Head:
This tripod is very well made and a very complete package for the price. The accessories include a Cordura carrying/storage bag, a carrying strap attached to the tripod, retractable spike feet, and a removable panning ballhead with quick release. The tripod is light and sturdy (as would be expected in a CF tripod.

Comments about Smith-Victor CF100 55" Carbon Fiber Tripod with BH2 Ball Head:
This is a great deal if you can't justify spending 400 on a tripod, but tired of cycling though cheap tripods. I had to rebuild some components of this tripod (with the supplied tools) as the panning component was frozen. After torqing each bolt by hand, the tripod works great. Just remember the panning part may be frozen when you get it. The solution is to unscrew the bottom hex keys until it stops binding.
