The Tiffen 77mm 0.6 ND Filter is a solid neutral density filter providing a 2 stop exposure reduction. This 0.6 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.
This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting to precision metal rings.

I use this filter shooting video on my 5D MKIII. The screw on filter is excellent if you are using still lenses.

I picked this up to shoot outdoor portraits. I wanted to keep some Bokeh in my photos. This filter was just enough to keep depth there.

I bought it for dslr video in outside sunny days and it works great, keeps color and sharpness of the image but lets you work with wider apertures.

I used it at a water fall in NJ and got good results, however, I did not get the same result in Florida under glaring sun, I needed to add another filter or maybe get a higher density one, over all a very good product

Keeps the light out so I don't have to close the aperture. Fits snugly, never slips off, and the lens cap can be placed firmly against it. I have used this for a wedding I shot on a very bright day.

I shoot a lot outside and in Louisiana the sun is very bright. This filter works great to cut down the the brightness and allow me to flash sync at 1/250 easily without having the color messed with.

I found this great for use at the beach. Even during the peak light of the day it works great. The stops you give up are not an issue because of the tome of day and light differential.

I wanted a filter that would put some colour back into the sky and this filter does that perfectly. I'm sure it will be fabulous in other situations too such as slowing down water for that silky effect but I've yet to try that.

Comments about Tiffen 77mm 0.6 ND Filter:
Here's something that should be in your bag: a good Neutral Density filter. Let's say you're shooting in bright daylight conditions, and you want to use some slow shutter speeds, without getting too much depth of field. Unfortunately, you can only dial the ISO down so far, before you need another option.
This Tiffen 0.6 ND filter worked really well for us on a recent project. It appears to be very good optically, and the construction is pro-level.

Comments about Tiffen 77mm 0.6 ND Filter:
I do a lot of time lapse photography, and this is a must-have for doing long exposures in day light. I bought it with the ND 0.9 filter, and I can combine them to get three different levels of step down. I also use a step down ring to adapt from a 77 mm to a 72 mm lens, since I have both.
