With the Canon WP-DC26 waterproof case for the Canon PowerShot SD880 IS, you can use your digital camera to take underwater shots at depths of up to 130' (40 m). Of course it's also ideal for taking worry-free pictures in the rain, at the beach, or on the ski slopes.
You can use your camera's internal flash for lighting purposes. Or, use the internal flash to trigger a slaved external strobe like those made by Fantasea, Sea & Sea, Ikelite, or Sealife.

I use this case for diving in springs and caves in central florida. Using this case, I was able to take some incredible videos of diving in freshwater springs. The sound came out very nicely as well, when used above water it was difficult to tell that the camera was in a case at all.
The buttons all work very well - very tactile despite being in an underwater case, even at depths near 80 ft or more. The back view screen is very easy to see and use, and while the function wheel is not usable, it's not even really necessary - combinations of buttons (clearly indicated in the case manual) will get you the same behavior. The only minor nitpick I have is that the function switch on the top of the camera is a little difficult to actuate - this is more a reflection of the camera switch and not the case, but it is sometimes tricky to switch between photo and movie mode for example.
The flash deflector is also a nice touch. While I haven't used it much, when you do need to use the flash, this is a critical piece of equipment, or your pictures will wind up spot-lit instead of a nice even light.
Without spending a lot of money on an SLR and the case, this is really a great way to go, especially since the movie quality is pretty darn good.

This is my second case because the latch on this case is weaker than the previous case I had for a older Canon Powershot. I used the case for about one year - quite a bit diving and whitewater rafting, but on my last dive trip to Bali the latch broke. I'll be trying to minimize any undue stress on the latch this time around.

This case far exceeded my expectations. I held my breath when one of the people I was traveleing with dropped it on concrete just before it bounced into the pool, but it was perfectly fine. Sturdy!

Took this case on a cruise and used it to take photos of fish snorkeling! We tried disposable cameras before and they don't compare. Super to find this at B&H and quick ship too. Thanks!

I use this for snorkeling and underwater boatside shots while fishing. It's great. The functions are all readily available, and it takes great pictures both without and with flash. Well worth the expense over the plastic bag cases. Tried them, don't trust them, are hard to operate camera, and have lesser picture quality.

I use this for my Canon SD 880. I would have settled for a housing that just let me take pictures underwater, but this does much more. I can change scene modes, change to video, review shots... basically, anything you can do with your camera, you can do while it's in the housing. (button combinations are a fine substitute for the scroll wheel.)
Sure, any housing will add some bulk, but it's worth it. I can take this to the beach, SCUBA diving, whitewater rafting, places I would not dare take my DSLR!

Here's my story. While in Hawaii, I took my "SD 880 IS" inside the SUPOSSEDLY water-proof case (WP-DC26) on a catamaran ride and on this day, I had no issues. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the audio in video mode. The next day I went to a private beach at Hickam AFB for some snorkeling. Without any exaggeration, I was waist-deep in the water when I submerged my camera underwater for no more than two minutes. During that time, I took several pictures to test the camera. I pulled the camera out of the water to see the pictures and noticed water INSIDE the camera case.I knew my camera was gone as I unlatched the case. Water poured out of the case and indeed, my camera was literally dead in the water.I loved my camera and will probably get another Canon but obviously I am very disappointed in the lack of quality if this product (WP-DC26). This was a WASTE of [$] for the case plus the cost of another camera. I read many reviews of this product and took the chance. This was the wrong decision!!!!! As mentioned earlier; I am out of almost $400. My advice would be to just get a camera that is designed to be underwater.Sincerely,Dennis CordovaTSgt USAF

Great housind, I use it to get videos of underwater life and work, it's easy to prepare, tough, easy to use underwater, easy to check your fotos. I don't find enything bad about my housing, I've used it about 50 times, sometimes up to 120feet deep.

Bought this case to take on my Tahiti honeymoon. Used it to take pics while snorkeling and scuba-diving (approx. 30 ft deep). Pictures are absolutely amazing. You wouldn't be able to tell the camera was even in the case for many of the pictures (above and below the water).

Bought this case for all-around use (I'm a fishing guide) and occasional back-up for photo shoots. I also have an SLR with an EWA-Marine bag but only use the bag when I have the time to get it sealed and ready for water. This housing gives me a safe and convenient way to keep taking pictures when I would otherwise stow my camera gear.

I have yet to use it in the salt water but I practiced with it in a pool. The case allows you to use the camera almost as well as without it! The pictures came out great and crystal clear. Now I'll have to see what it can do in the Caribbean!

I have used the housing on two dives in San Diego thus far down to depths of 70 ft. It works great, and I have been extremely impressed with it! The buttons are very easy to use, and it's very easy to switch between taking photos and taking video (both of which are excellent quality). The flash filter works great as well and is a necessity if you are using the flash. I plan to use it on multiple dives in the future!

I got this case to protect our camera, not only from the water but the fine sand at the beach. So far so good. Underwater is awesome! Yes, that weird plastic thing, we did indeed need it when we were underwater and the flash goes off. We recommend this product.

Bought the case for snorkeling in Florida with the intention of getting some 'good' pictures and the pictures were 'great'. Used it all the time while near water and sand. Read online in someone's comment the scroll wheel does not work when camera is in the case. This is true but you hold down a combination of buttons to select the same features as the scroll wheel. So, no loss of camera functions while in the case.
Only con is that you need to take the camera hand strap off to fit in case. And as you may know it is no easy task to place back on.
Definitely worth the money!

I used this Canon underwater housing on two different trips and it works great. Wonderful picture quality and movies too! The cameras have a underwater scene setting that corrects the color for depth or use the flash for more true colors. All the buttons can be used just as if you are on dry land.

Works perfectly, far superior to the dry bags that allow you to push the buttons.
