Comments about Zacuto ZARM-M3 Zamerican Articulating Arm V3 Medium Version 9":

I got this to replace a cheap arm I bought a couple years ago. The threading stripped out of my old one b/c it was aluminum (which is stupid for most types of threading---Aluminum doesn't have the strength or flexibility, especially for something that gets adjusted several times on every shoot).

I should've gotten this all along. I've used it before from rental houses. I also chose this design so that I won't have to twist the monitor (or arm) around and around, making it more likely to drop it, as well as having to unplug all cables in order to do it (in the case I'm taking it on and off or attaching it to different points, which tends to actually happen pretty often for me.)

Another big plus (that should be listed in the description, as it isn't mentioned, plus you can't see it in the pictures) is that in addition to being able to mount it to 15mm rods, it also has female threading inside if you have 1/2-13 threading for 15mm rods (many rods use this threading, I know my Berkey System rods do).

Oh, the handle is nice and big to torque it down well. And it's beefy enough I don't worry about it, as I often had with cheap monitor arms.

The only reason it's 4 instead of 5 stars is b/c, as solid a product as it is, I think Zacuto is overpriced, and I also don't like that the handle is anodized red, b/c with wear, red turns pink, and that's just...not the style for me. I recognize it's not a functional flaw, I just don't want my gear to look like Hello Kitty.
