This Apple Mini DisplayPort to DVI Display Adapter is designed to allow users of a Mac computer featuring the Mini DisplayPort connector to output to an external monitor or projector that features a Dual-Link DVI port. In addition, it also features a USB extension cable that runs alongside the DVI cable, for convenience sake. Both video-mirroring and dual-display modes are supported.

I needed this cable to get matching resolutions on the 2 NEC Monitors that I was using with my Mac Pro. I had originally ordered another cable (MiniDisplay Port Adaptor) and the resolutions on each monitor were different. The only other options was to add a second graphics card and that was very expensive. This works great.

The Dual-Link Display Adapter works just as promised. Of course with all apple products it looks great, but the length of the cord makes it easy to place your computer anywhere you want without having to have it right by the monitor. I have been using this a few weeks with my 15" MacBook Pro and it is great.

I've heard some rate this card as not working for some folks, but it worked great for me. I also heard it was because of a glitch in older operating systems. I'm running Mac OS 10.5.7 on a 27" iMac, and it runs the 30" Apple Display just fine.
