I love the way that they fold up for storage. It's almost like they create a "wall of sound". They really do block out the noise, especially when you're listening to music on your computer. Better than your model MDR-V150. They even work with rechargeable AAA batteries. Excellent design. I would absolutely recommend to a friend.

These headphones really were a waste of money :|. I suppose it's partially my fault for having bought them in a rush and not reading that they require a battery for optimum performance. Come on, that's just ridiculous. They claim it's for the "noise cancelling" function; which it accomplishes to a small degree. However, noise cancellation is less important to me for home listening than ovrall sound quality. You can buy a pair of vic firth headphones for the same price that perform better in both sound quality and noise cancellation. In addition to the sheer inconvenience of having to replace the headphones' batteries, the battery life itself is relatively short. I've had them for just under a month and have had to replace batteries twice already with 2-4 hours of use per day. My biggest complaint above all others, however, is that they simply are not durable at all. Just this afternoon, the tiny piece of plastic holding the left bearing in place simpy snapped, and the headphones no longer function as a single unit. I didn't drop them, I didn't misuse them, it simply popped off while I was wearing them on my head. Boy, was I angry! The cable itself is very delicate as well. I can tell that this is a pair of headphones whose terminator will start to short after maybe 6 months. My advice to a prospective buyer would be to consider, instead, purchasing the Sony MDR-V150. For $20 less you'll get well made, durable and great sounding headphones. Mine lasted me 3 years which is longer than any single pair of headphones has ever lasted me. They are much more aptly suited to any listening task; be it home music listening or even studio monitoring. In sumation, I would advise AGAINST purchasing these headphones!

Comments about Sony MDR-NC7 Noise-Cancelling Stereo Headphones (Black):
I did not buy these at B & H, but feel compelled to offer a warning. I find these headphones horribly uncomfortable. I can't wear them for more than an hour. I bought them for work to help eliminate the noise, but I can't keep them on for too long. My ears and the top of my head begin to hurt. They are especially uncomfortable when I have my glasses on. I'm not much of an audiophile, so I can't speak to their sound quality other than I think it is just fine.

Comments about Sony MDR-NC7 Noise-Cancelling Stereo Headphones (Black):
It is difficult to determine which is right and which is left. Sometimes the unit turns on by accidently touching the power switch.
Comments about Sony MDR-NC7 Noise-Cancelling Stereo Headphones (Black):
The construction is really fragile, so the plastic piece has cracked on both ears. I'm trying to keep them marginable usable with packing table, which of course looks ridiculous and thwarts most of the swiveling. I wouldn't consider this product unless you plan to carry it around with kid gloves. (It's my 1st pair of NC headphones so i'll defer to the audiophiles on that topic.)
Comments about Sony MDR-NC7 Noise-Cancelling Stereo Headphones (Black):
Ever since I bought these headphones over the summer I like them even more. They are overall comfortable and not too bulky, and they are also easy to carry and store. The bass is quite nice, not too high or too low, depending on what you like to listen to. But for a while if you don't wear them properly, the ears may hurt, but it's not really a pain at all, its just a bit cumbersome. Nevertheless I would still recommend this product, the sound has great quality, and the design is great as well.
Comments about Sony MDR-NC7 Noise-Cancelling Stereo Headphones (Black):
it is an amazing headset. i got mine for christmas and i completely love it. i never write reviews for things but this thing was so handy and i loved it so much i just had to join the site and write one. but i have to say it should cost more. the only thing i don't like is that you have to put a battery in it, not a big one, and "turn it on" to get near studio/bose sound quality. so overall like i said before, just downright amazing.
Comments about Sony MDR-NC7 Noise-Cancelling Stereo Headphones (Black):
Trying to put these on your head is pretty annoying. There are about two million different ways these headphones fold and spin so that they store more easily, but putting them on your head is like untying a complicated knot. The sound quality is pretty decent and the noise cancelling feature noticeably cuts out background noise. I found that the headphones aren't particularly comfortable after an extended listening time and the material might cause your ears to feel sweaty.
Comments about Sony MDR-NC7 Noise-Cancelling Stereo Headphones (Black):
For the price these phones work well. At a coffee shop or on a plane they will redice annoying constant background adequately. They fold ingeniously taking up little space and have a good sound. These are not rugged. The plastic design throughout causes them to start falling apart bit by bit until ultimately they break beyond home repair with superglue or duct tape. I got them free with credit card points so I have no big complaints. I made them last about two years.

I can't complain about the sound, these are realy nice. These H.Phones are two parts held together by a screw in the center of the strap which sits on the top of my head and digs into my skull, and as I'm adjusting them the space opens and closes catching what lttle hair I have left.I got these as a gift and not on B&H web site but I did go to the NC7's and enlarge them and I can see where the plastic head phone strap was put together in the center.

These sound awful. Really. If you want decent quality sound, get something else. My over ear headphones for about the same price are more comfortable and reduce noise BETTER than these, and sould a lot better. I think I will throw these away or give them to my dog for a chew toy. Yes, they're that bad.

I am a professional videographer. I bought these headphones for shoots. I was very disappointed. First of all the battery dies very quickly and doesn't help that much. Second I can hear people talking around me when I am trying to listen to the audio coming from my mic across the room. These headphones would be ok for postproduction work. However if you are a professional I would keep looking.
