Comments about Trek-Tech MagMount Pro Ballhead with Magnetic Plate - Supports Up To 13.5 lbs (6.1kg):

I was interested in seeing how this would work with a monopod. It's a small, secure, light weight ball head. But doesn't allow for sufficient drag to properly control a camera/lens combo weighing upwards of two pounds. For this reason I decided to return it.I might recommend this to someone needing absolute control over the amount of weight they would be carrying.

Comments about Trek-Tech MagMount Pro Ballhead with Magnetic Plate - Supports Up To 13.5 lbs (6.1kg):

Camera gets on and off the tripod so fast you want to use the tripod whenever possible. I just rip the camera off, sit the flash on the tripod and when I'm done, rip the flash off and sit the camera back on when I don't need the flash. Cool. I had a Trekpod that went all over the world with me until it's legs were broken. I still like my Manfrotto but with 2 cameras and a flash, the mounting plates became a challenge. I miss my Trekpod head so I ordered the MagMount for the tripod in my trunk and life is good. I have 4 buttons, two that came with the MagMount and 2 from my broken Trekpod. Nice cheat.

Comments about Trek-Tech MagMount Pro Ballhead with Magnetic Plate - Supports Up To 13.5 lbs (6.1kg):

This mount is solid for tiny ball head. It actually has a half lock position where you can pan yet hold the ball. The magnet is very strong! If you just attach the mount without a camera you can't get it off without a screw driver. It WILL hold 13.5 pounds and that is before you swing the positive lock. It will move quite free when the ball is free so you don't get a lot of intermediate tension. The large single knob does it all. You get a second camera mount without the teeth and it would hold a lighter camera solid as well as the mount with teeth. All the claims are very much proven in the delivery.

Easy to use, doesn't take up much space & holds camera steady.
Range of motion is just OK, but not bad.

Bought two of these, one for my monopod and another to replace the three axis head on an old Bogen tripod. The magnet mount is much quicker to use compared to any screw on mount and is very secure. The teeth on the plate make for proper alignment and connection. The locking clip keeps the connection secure until you want to remove the camera and lens combination. The camera plate attaches using a allen screw. I placed one on my D7000 camera body for use with any of my shorter lenses and the other plate is on a Sigma 150-500, it works great on both the monopod and tripod.

I use this mount to provide me with a quick on off while working with my walking stick tripod. the magnetic contact between the camera and the mount, makes replacing the camera on the mount fast an simple. Be careful, though, the magnet is very strong and it is hard to get it to let go...

I never write reviews. But recently I broke my MacMountPro (It was my fault) and I called them to enquire about it's limited warrant. I was very surprised to get someone right away and within 2 minutes he was asking for my address to send me a replacement! I was even more surprised when it showed up 2 days later even though I'm on the other side of the US! Like I said, I never write reviews, but this so impressive it's the least I could do. A+
