Comments about Giottos MH-5011 Small 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head:
The MH-5011 is currently being used everyday on a project to take upwards of 3000 documentary photos, all interior. It is mounted on a Manfrotto 055CXPRO3. The head has proven to be sturdy and supports a D800 with Nikon's 16-35mm lens. The quick release has saved time and the inconvenience of unscrewing the camera from the tripod. However, it could be improved. When placed on the head, it is not 100% stable and a very minor amount of wobbling is evident. Since we have the D800 tethered to a notebook with software to control the camera, the camera is not subject to vibrations or movement, so we don't have an issue with the quick release. Improvement is recommended however.

Comments about Giottos MH-5011 Small 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head:
Overall a well made, lightweight, solid tripod head. I use it with an Olympus E PL-1 and a small Canon point-and-shoot. Horizontal tilt control is stiff. I hope it will loosen up over time.

Comments about Giottos MH-5011 Small 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head:
We wanted a lightweight head for a lightweight tripod, the current head weighed as much as the tripod. This one fits the bill and works reasonably well for the price. Don't expect the smooth motion of a fluid head (of course) but with careful adjustment of the friction knobs, it works really well. Just expect to spend a few extra seconds adjusting the tension compared to a $500 fluid head. No regrets with our purchase of this head.

Comments about Giottos MH-5011 Small 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head:
Trying to find pan.tilt head that is light and small to use with small camcorder. This MH-5011 head does a decent job of tilting with a small and lightweight camcorder but is NOT a substitute for a true fluid head as it is not as smooth. However, the trade off is that it is relatively small, light and compact so it works for me but only when traveling. For traveling, it works just fine.

Comments about Giottos MH-5011 Small 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head:
This puppy is just about the best thing you can get for the price. Solid and hefty, it supports my D300 and 70-300mm lens @300mm and flash without a hitch. It's beautifully made and has a bubble level in every direction possible. The action is very smooth as well.

Comments about Giottos MH-5011 Small 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head:
With the price paid in mind, I think I may have fallen in love with this tripod head. The design is very rugged and sturdy. The handles feel good in my hand and loosen/tighten very smoothly and gradually. The movements are also nice and smooth. The entire thing is very functional and adjustable, and the multiple levels have been very useful to me for taking landscape shots.
