The Gefen EXT-USB2.0-LR Cat5 USB 2.0 Extender is a transmitter and receiver designed to extend the effective range of connecting USB 2.0 devices to a computer or device. The user connects a USB 2.0 compatible unit into the EXT-USB2.0-LR transmitter which then carries the signal over Cat5 (Ethernet) cable to the EXT-USB2.0-LR receiver, which connects it directly to the controller, whether it's a PC, Mac or other capable peripheral. The maximum range of the extender is 330' (100 m), making it incredibly useful for remote access.

Gefen always makes great products and this device is no different. Having a status light and power light takes out the guesswork in setting up. I have used it with 200' of cat5 and haven't had any issues.
Only con is the price. A little more expensive then other ones in the market but with Gefen you know you are getting professional grade.

As the owner of live sound, lighting and video rental company (based in Greenpoint, Brooklyn), there are many instances where asthetics rule the layout of the event so the drive components of our audio, video or lighting systems may end up in a less than convenient location. This can make access to these systems difficult and thus may compromise control. This USB CAT5 extender is an excellent, reliable tool that helps resolve these issues.
I have no hesitation in recomending this USB to CAT5 to USB extender to other potential users. We will buy more of these for inclusion with all our systems to ultimately keep our end result optimized to the best of our ability and keep our clients satisfied.
