The MDR-NC7 headphones from Sony offer terrific sound quality combined with active noise cancellation, allowing you to enjoy your music in blissful peace. The technology inside the headphones listens to your environment, and then reduces it by over 85%, making jet engines and other constant noises fade away.
A passive listening mode is available, allowing you to listen to music without the noise cancellation feature if the battery runs out. The headphones feature swivel earcups and a foldable design, allowing you to carry them easily for travel. A dual-plug airplane adapter is included for connecting to in-flight entertainment systems.

My daughter didn't like the feel of her old headphones ( earbuds ) so I purchased these for her . The price didn't hurt my pocket at all other then the batteries that she will switch in my remote control down the road with when her's expire , I guess I can live with that . You don't need to install the batteries for these headphones to work but you can notice the difference , the bass gets a little bit more pronounced . She also said she wouldn't where them outside , must be a fashion issue . She does use them all the time in the house thou . I like them because when I talk to her she can still hear me . So sorry sony , they are not even close to noise cancelling . I don't know why you would even consider trying to get away with claiming that . As a parent I feel safer for that . They do seem to hug her head OK when she dances and she seems to be comfortable in them . She has a normal size head if that helps any one out . There are no issues with connecting this with here IPOD and the cord seems to be the perfect lenth, it actualy sounds pretty good to me a decent amount of bass and plenty of treble . I'm not sure how durable they are we've just had them over a month now , but I never met a pair of headphones that lasted forever . That is why I purchased the 2 year peace of mind warranty (normal wear-and-tear). If you want an inexpensive pair of head phones these could be just the right ones for you .

I use the headphones at the gym where I prefer to listen to my own music while working out rather than the selections offered at high volume by the facility. They block out enough of the piped in music to allow me to hear what I choose with good fidelity. I only wish there were a volume control on the cord so that I wouldn't have to remove the headset to respond to someone who addresses me.

I use these headphones to listen to music from my computer and from my phone. I think that it's a pretty good quality pair for the price range, and they look pretty cool. The only thing is that they can be static-y at times. Sometimes they hurt my ear, but maybe it's because I wear earrings.

Comments about Sony MDR-NC7 Noise-Cancelling Stereo Headphones (White):
I was disappointed at the small amount of noise-cancelling from these headphones. Maybe the effect would be significant if they were housed instead inside full ear-covering pads, rather than on-ear. But the noise reduction (what little there was) was less than the ear-protection cups I use mowing the lawn. Noise-muffling. Better than no muffling, I suppose. The music output was adequate, but to appreciate any high or low notes I had to adjust the equalizer settings a good bit, and even then the overall sound was just good. B&H's price & delivery speed made this purchase worthwhile, but these headphones' sound really should just be considered a nice, discernible upgrade from dollar-store models. If that's your goal, you'll like them.

I bought these Headphones for my wife, which travels less than me, but sometime travels with me. At first, she found them a bit uncomfortable to wear, because they caused a bit of pressure on the ears, but they seem more tolerable after some use. The NC seems to work fine, as on my mdr-nc60. For the price paid, I consider this purchase a steal. They were Best Traveler Headphones in 2010.
All in all, I would recommend them is if you are not a frequent traveler.

The question you are all asking is: Does this product work as good as the competitor's? Yes. Our family travels a lot. I thought, I'll try one set and see how they are, then I'll get more for other family members. Guess what everybody is getting for Xmas? Sony has made a good product with these.
I'm a professional musician - I use other earphones for my home station. It is a matter of fatigue and extreme sound quality - I need something that entirely covers my ears - the really big ones. But if that doesn't bother you, these are pretty good for a home station too. Most people are not looking for the kind of sound I need when I'm recording.
These are a very good product. They are coming with me whenever I travel. They'll fit in a large pocket.

great for listing with any use of ipod or mp3 player. if you dont like listing to people around you or being bothered by noises then these are the headphones to buy. great sound quality, comfort, bass boost, long cord nice and thin. Comes with an adapter so can take on plane and listen to the radio or watch movies depending on whar airline you fly. other than that I love these headphones I own 2 pair.
