The Pentax 10x36 DCF NV binocular borrows many cues from the flagship DCF ED lineup, with a similar focusing dial and eyecup design, and does so with more approachable pricing.
The body's waterproof and fogproof, and made from a fiber-reinforced polycarbonate. Even at the top of the lines, manufacturers are moving towards fiber-reinforced body designs because they've quickly proved durable, able to retain their optical alignment, but significantly lighter than a metal alloy chassis.
The 10x36 DCF NV gives a combination of phase-corrected roof prisms, fully multicoated optics, and a modern waterproof housing with most of the brightness and viewing comfort of the larger and more costly designs. As the 10x model of the 36mm DCF NV series, it offers a more pronounced, bolder view with a blurrier background. And though it gathers the same amount of light as its 8x36 NV sibling, it will appear significantly brighter in twilight conditions.

Comments about Pentax 10x36 DCF NV Binocular:
Good construction with good optics for the money. Light enough to handhold steady @ 10x. Good binos for wildlife watching. Not enough aperature for very low light viewing, but those larger binoculars will not fit in your coat pocket.

Comments about Pentax 10x36 DCF NV Binocular:
Great balance between weight and brightness - you get a surprisingly bright binoculars without being really heavy. Light enough for most people to hold a X10 binoculars without handshake. Coupled with sharp lens and waterproof body, it is great and excellent value for the price.

Comments about Pentax 10x36 DCF NV Binocular:
I use this product for wildlife viewing while hiking and camping. I compared a number of models within several brands and found that the Pentax line of binoculars were the best value by a good margin. The image is sharp and bright and comparable to other brands' more expensive models. Eye relief is sufficient for glasses wearers. The binocular focuses closer than many, though there are a few models specifically designed for close focusing, if that's a priority. If younger children (or those who have difficulties holding steady) will be using the binocular I recommend the 8x36 version, as the lower magnification is easier to use. Good choice for an inexpensive yet quality full-size binocular.

Comments about Pentax 10x36 DCF NV Binocular:
Bought these to replace a 25 yr old pair of 10 X 50, metal body binoculars, these have better optics and feel half as heavy.
They came with lens caps, and the caps have slots for retaining straps, but no straps included. Still looking for the most convenient way to retain the covers.

Comments about Pentax 10x36 DCF NV Binocular:
My bird viewing location is from a rear deck of my daughter's house in Lackawaxen, PA. The viewing range is from 20' to probably 5,000 to 6,000 feet away and these glasses are excellent. And a real bargain. In addition the details of the moon are outstanding!
