The Minox MD 50 50mm Spotting Scope is an extremely compact, travel-friendly scope delivering the high quality and diminutive design for which Minox is known.  Minox's company mindset of compact, quality, precision mechanics are consistently applied in every product they make.

The MD 50's particularly ideal for bird watchers who prefer a spotting scope small compact enough to tote along in luggage or backpacks during their travels.  In this case this spotting scope can be an excellent supplement to binoculars; with its size & 16x minimum magnification, it can be held in one hand at times (for optimum use a tripod or monopod's always recommended).

A sturdy yet light rubber-armored body protects the precision mechanics and optics against damage from normal use.  The MD 50 is dustproof and waterproof to a depth of 16'.

Comments about Minox MD 50 2.0"/50mm Spotting Scope:

I purchased this scope as a compact unit for an upcomimg bacpack hunting trip.
It's compact size and low weight were the key considerations.
While it is not fair to compare this scope to a much bigger offering from Swaro or Zeiss or the like, it is a great option for the hunter who needs a spotting scope ocassionally.
Easy to focus and zoom.. Clear image through most of the power range. At 30x there is a little distortion around the edges, but mot much.

Comments about Minox MD 50 2.0"/50mm Spotting Scope:

The Minox MD 50 is extremely compact and easy to carry. The optics are fairly sharp, The body is very solid and has a quality feel to it. I use it to look at birds, when my Olympus 10x42 binoculars do not show enough detail. As with any scope, a tripod or a good monopod is needed to avoid blurring of very distant objects.

Comments about Minox MD 50 2.0"/50mm Spotting Scope:

I was looking for a compact spotter for backpack hunting trips and this one is perfect.
Clarity is awesome. Size and weight makes for great portability. The focus ring is a little stiff but it does the job just fine. For the price you really can't go wrong.
