Comments about Yamaha P-155 88-Key Digital Piano (Black/Mahogany):

I am a professional musician (singer & pianist). I previously owned the Yamaha P-120 from 2002. I sold it and needed a replacement. The P-155 has an even better touch and sound than the P-120. Very portable and good looking as well. It is the very best keyboard you can buy for [$] - sounds SO VERY close to a real grand piano. The only thing I do not prefer about it is that the plug-ins are in the bag verses the side. But it's not a big deal compared to what a great keyboard this is.

Comments about Yamaha P-155 88-Key Digital Piano (Black/Mahogany):

My excitement from receiving this instrument as a gift from my fiancée was short-lived. After relatively easy, but still time-consuming table/chair assembly, I was hugely disappointed. 4 of the black keys did not press all the way down and didn't produce almost any sound. Seemed like a mechanical problem of the keys being stuck. The instrument is now on its way back for an exchange. [...] Thousands of positive reviews throughout the web, fracture of which was studied beforehand, is a strong factor holding back from canceling this entire purchase and turning to Yamaha competitor. The look, the sound and the touch is very good, given it is a very sophisticated computer. Although the difference between the real string-and-hammer piano is palpable, it is an excellent and less expensive alternative. I still think everyone should experience the "real deal" before going digital. Only then the difference in sound amplitude can be understood. Simply because the sound it produces is electric, a record-like. The connection you get with a real piano is impossible to establish with digital instrument. I would agree with previous reviewers - the mechanism of the weighted keys in Yamaha P-155 version is great, but feels slightly stiff. That being said, I will give P-155 another chance. Once it finally arrives and I get the chance to hopefully more profound experience.
