At my community radio station, we use this as our field mixer for live remote broadcasts. Works beautifully for the relatively simple setups we use for remotes (1 or 2-mic + music line-in). USB connection interfaces seamlessly with our Linux and Windows 7 laptops, which send IP audio back to the station. Small footprint, great price. Only complaint is that the visual meter LEDs are tiny and don't help much. Still, it's pretty much perfect if small size is more important than complicated functions.

Here's the thing, When it was working before 2 of the knob contacts quit working, it was amazing. I used it for Music as well as Internet Podcasts and I streamed Movies online and I could talk along with stream using this mixer. The downside is quit working after 1 year, you may want to invest in protection coverage. But for 69.00 I may buy another one and hope it lasts longer than a year this time.

This is a great product for the price. I use it to connect 2 microphones which require phantom power to my video camera. Allows me to use better mics and improve audio quality when recording bands.

Got this as part of a [$]investment I made on podcasting equipment. Excellent quality for a start-up, low budget podcasting project. It's cool that is has a phantom power on/off button.

I've owned several of these over the years. All the Alesis Mixers work great, have good fit and finish, and are very well priced. Some users have complained about added noise, but I'm prone to believe its not the amp, as I have no similar issues.

Comments about Alesis MultiMix 4 4-Channel Audio Mixer with USB Connector:
I purchased this product with the intention of using it as a simple amplifier for my RODE microphone. I didn't have much money so I purchased this item as it was among the cheaper to provide sound via USB.
The amplification via XLR is terrible and transmits a great deal of noise over USB. The gain knob isn't smooth in its electrics. The 48V+ phantom power feature seems to die down; if you disactivate it and reactivate it after a minute the level of sound increases dramatically.
I wouldn't even recommend this for simple microphone amplification uses; pay the extra and get something better.

Long time professional musician just getting started with recording gear, and this little baby makes it easy for a newbie. Plug it in, start recording. Not too many bells and whistles to worry about! It's sturdy and portable.
The only issue I've encountered so far is using it to mike from far away to capture the sound of the room. As the gain approaches the halfway point, the noise seems to increase significantly. This could be user error! That being said, its very clean for close miking.
That's my amateur's assessment!

This truly a small studio at arms length. You can record live or , using a studio program, make layered songs with maximum effects without having a college degree in music. I love my new machine, it does so much in such a small package. My only regret is that I did not have this back in the day of playing in a band, but if u have a band and want to make cheap demos, this is perfect

I work in post production video, but i am working on on some personal projects now and wanted a usb mixer after reading the reviews here i thought well its ok and should work for my needs.
The audio quality on this is junk, pure trash the static is so bad and i was picking up some kind of hum as well. I checked all the gear the SM-58 was fine as was every thing else. It has to be the unit it self
Mac pro with 4 channel mixer and SM-58 using sound track pro in a sound booth.
or
imac in living room using built in mic. Guess which one produced better sound for me. Yup the built in cheap mic on the imac did, and i was in Gband with no settings.
I will be calling B and H tomorrow to return this item it is not worth it. I will be trying the PV6 next and will post on that.
also just touching some of the buttons on the mixer created buzz and feedback!
