The Sachtler 0375 FSB-4 is a carbon fiber tripod system offering stable movements to deliver the best images possible. The FSB-4 system consists of the FSB-4 fluid head, 2-stage carbon fiber tripod, mid-level spreader and case.

Snap and Go
The FSB-4 head accepts a payload from 0 to 4 kg while using Sachtler's Snap & Go sideload mechanism.
Dynamic Counterbalancing System
The dynamic counterbalancing system compensates for torques as the camera tilts, preventing the camera from inadvertently tipping, and ensuring that it is positioned securely at any tilt angle.
Tripod
The Sachtler 4588 Speed Lock 75 carbon fiber tripod with 75 mm levelling bowl supports up to 44.1 lb (20 kg). Speed Lock tripods feature traditional dual-tube design with a twist -- three leg clamps instead of six for rapid setup to catch fast breaking news.
Mid-Level Spreader
A mid-level spreader specifically designed for Sachtler's 75mm tripods come with this package to offer stability for indoor/outdoor applications.
Padded Bag
A padded bag comes with this system for secure transport capabilities.

I bought this tripod system after using a 501HDV head for years. I am currently shooting on 5D / 60D although I occasionally use an EX3, for field documentary work in extreme temperature conditions. I did a lot of research and landed on this model, and am glad I did.

The FSB4 head is a delight to use. This head is smooth and easy to use and is miles ahead of the Manfrotto models.

These sticks are also a pleasure-- they deploy with the flick of a single lever, making them one of the fastest models I've used. I got sick of turning multiple levers per leg, especially when jumping in and out of a car and trying to capture fast-moving aircraft. This model allows me to quickly extend the legs, as they are heavy enough to drop down by themselves when the levers are opened. I believe this model of sticks beats the pricier models that rely on turn-cranks for each leg segment.

I've withheld one star, because there are more plastic parts than I would expect for an item this expensive. Also, the first one that I got had to be returned, because the level bubble had dried out.

Otherwise I am very happy with this purchase. I am typically tough on my gear, and while I've only battle-tested this tripod for a week now, it seems pretty rugged, although time will tell how well the plastic bits hold up.

I've been a fan of Sachtler tripods for 25 years. Unfortunately, I got a dud when I ordered this tripod. One of the leg clamps wouldn't close completely, causing me to doubt its stability and its reliability. Trying to avoid lost time, I asked B&H if there were a way for me to fix the clamp without returning it or sending it off to a service center; B&H responded with a few suggestions. I appreciated their helpfulness but nothing worked. Rather than perching an expensive camera atop this platform and hoping for the best, I sent the tripod back. B&H accepted the return without issue. Though Sachtler's tripod had a manufacturing defect, B&H's customer service was flawless.

My video production jobs varying in scale, from run and gun shoots in tight situations to talking head interviews. Regardless, this tripod out preforms any tripod I have used. It's highlight feature is its speed lock. It's a must have in any video situation. Less hassling, more shooting. Great product.

Comments about Sachtler 0375 FSB-4 Carbon Fiber Tripod System:

I use my Sachtler mostly for DLSR filmmaking and couldn't be happier. It's light, solid, and it's super smooth with pans and tilts. The fact that each leg only has one lock for adjusting height is brilliant because it makes your set-up quick and easy. I'm in love with this thing. Yeah, it's a little pricey but you definitely get what you pay for.

I was stuck between the FSB-4 and the Manfrotto 504HD, but after using both tripod systems extensively I have to go with the Sachtler, hands down. The only thing I don't like is the total amount of weight it can support. The FSB-4 is rated for 8.8 lbs which doesn't seem like much. Honestly though, I never have more than 6lbs of gear total on my tripod, even with my Canon 70-200mm lens (which is fairly heavy) so I'm not worried. The higher level FSB tripods support more weight, but they're a little out of my price range.

Bottom line: If you're investing in a DSLR video tripod that'll last you a long while, the FSB-4 with the carbon fiber legs should be at the top of your contender's list.

Comments about Sachtler 0375 FSB-4 Carbon Fiber Tripod System:

I work on documentaries, live events, a lot of light eng type work with some higher end stuff thrown in, but we really like a nice pro feel and that's exactly what I felt when I tried out this system. It was a little pricer than I wanted, but the cheapest, lightest, most stable, most pleasing feel of anything at B&H under 3K. So from that point of view it was a steal. Its fast, its light, it's simple and reliable. I would have loved something a little more heavy duty, but that's not coming at this price point. I am a little worried about wear and tear as there are a ton of moving parts, but after several shoots its been a total dream.

Comments about Sachtler 0375 FSB-4 Carbon Fiber Tripod System:

This tripod + head offers a great weight / rigidity ratio thanks to the carbon legs, it is very stable for location work and, thanks to the original single release lever for each leg, very quick to deploy and fold. In fact everything is both very quick (e.g. setting the head to horizontal), well thought-out and clear to use. The fluid head is remarkably smooth in both directions. I used it during a trade show, lots of moving about, setting up and changes, with a Canon 5D MkIII, 70-200 2.8 lens, sound and LCD monitor gear, 8-10 lbs.

I use the fsb4 for my sony fs700 camera with canon lenses. The head is great but if you have more budget. I suggest you go for the fsb6. the friction and counter balance is just enough for the weight of FS700+70-200 f2.8 lenses. That means if you add the full rig system or bigger monitor. You'll see the limitation of this head. Or you can pay USD 600 more for the fsb6.

BTW, it's still a very great head. Speed lock tripod is very useful. As I concern save USD300 to buy the aluminium legs. But, the speed lock is unique.

Comments about Sachtler 0375 FSB-4 Carbon Fiber Tripod System:

I work as a documentary filmmaker, so I researched lightweight, sturdy and lasting tripods. After much comparison online, I thought this was the one, but when I actually used it, it wasn't so. This tripod is heavier than expected, and bulky to carry around (especially in the documentary world, were you move around a lot). It's also quite clunky and hard to maneuver. I ended up buying a smaller, $400 tripod for regular use, and since I couldn't return this one, I ended up using it just for time lapses and interviews (where it's steady and in one place). Warning: The very first time I used this tripod, one of the red, rubber leg pads broke off. Since you can't return this item after 30 days (or if you use it more than 120 hours!!) I contacted B&H support to see if I could get a replacement part. They directed me to the manufacturers (not Sachtler, but a third-party company). .....Apparently this happens a lot, which is reflected in the other reviews. Good news is that this tripod is on warranty, so I should be able to receive a part. Bad news is that I'm still on hold. Bottom line: I would either splurge on a 6K or higher tripod, or buy a $400 decent Manfrotto.

Comments about Sachtler 0375 FSB-4 Carbon Fiber Tripod System:

I own a Panasonic HPX 170. I had a very inexpensive tripod that limited my ability to pan and tilt with any accuracy. The Sachtler system is a God send. For a light camera it has plenty of drag and stability in the FSB-4 head. The range of adjustments and drag really make moving smooth and easy. The quick release legs, one release for each two sections of leg, is perfect and quick. The soft case adds travel protection and allows a little extra room for the stuff you know you need but will not fit in your camera box. I have only had this system for a few weeks but can not think of moving forward without it. I also know I will be using this rig for years to come. Plus the BuyitNow option allows me 6 months same as cash if I pay in full in that time period. It was a no brainer.

Comments about Sachtler 0375 FSB-4 Carbon Fiber Tripod System:

THis Tripod feels like the Mercedes Benz of the Tripod world! Its easy to feel and see the craftsmanship that was put into the creation of this wonderful tripod. Its solid and fluid! THe carbon Fiber contraction makes it feel like its bigger brothers but its light and extremely sturdy. THeres only a single latch for the telescoping legs, very nice! The Huge tripod head and RED accents let my clients know I mean business when I pull this out of my bag. I can feel the clutches engaging when changing gears on the various rotary knobs. Its silky smooth engagement during panning and tilting is highly adjustable on the X, Y, and Z axis. Dual bubble indicators help get the perfect level on all surfaces. The mid spreader is nice because of the ease with using it on stairs or steps.

I use this tripod mainly with a Canon 7D. It is a great product. I have used many different tripods and sachtler is my favorite. Whether panning or tilting there are no jumps or hooks. You can achieve a smooth start and stop. Definitely worth the price.
The only con is that you can't easily detach the spreader.

The tripod out of the bag was smaller than I thought it was going to be...which made me a little nervious at first. Though once I put a sony ex1 on the sticks it handled it very well. I wouldn't want to put a much heavier camera on these sticks, but it will do great with professional hand held cameras.

Thing that I really like about the camera are the quick release and snap plate. No more sliding the camera plate all the way out of the tripod head. It just snaps straight out. I also really like that there is only one leg lock for each tripod leg. The tripod legs that you have to rotate the leg locks take for ever to get to the right hight, Especially when your doing two per leg.

I do wish that the tripod went a little lower to the ground. Now it is pretty low, but I would like to go about a foot or so from the ground. (miller, gitzo...do this)

The bag that comes with the tripod is also very nice and very durable.

Another thing that is great about the tripod is the fact that under the top part of the tripod head it comes with two replacement camera mounting screws locked right into the head. One of the screws is the bigger size than the 1/4 inch it may be a 1/2 inch?

So far I haven't gotten to get out and shoot with it, just played around with it alot in my apartment, but I can already tell it is a professional piece of gear that I am going to be very happy with.

I loved it when I first got it out of the package, at last I had a professionell tripodsystem.
But when I tried to mount the plate into the camera the screw got damage, to bad quality(soft). then I noticed 2 other screws on my floor and realised that they fall of the thing that is holding the 3 legs together.

Now I have replaced the screw in the cameraplate and put the other screws on their place. Hope nothing else is falling apart.

                                            Now I´m in love again!

Comments about Sachtler 0375 FSB-4 Carbon Fiber Tripod System:

I bought this tripod to use with a Canon 7D fitted out for cinema-style video. It's a lot more expensive than some of the other options, but it's definitely worth it. We used Sachtlers mostly in film school, and I got spoiled. Still, when it came time to buy, I was tempted to get something cheaper (I won't mention any names...) but I am so glad I didn't.

Here is what I like about it. The head is easy to level, the legs have enough weight to drop when you release them, and you only have one set of locks to worry about on each leg. Also, the action of the fluidhead is smooth and consistent and easily adjustable. The carbon fiber is light and more durable than aluminum. You pull this tripod out of its bag and people know you're not messing around. And you're not. You won't waste any time trying to level the three legs or get steady footing or redoing pans or tilts or any of that other nonsense. Just smooth working. That's what I like.

                                              Here's what I don't like. It's expensive. But I'm over it.
