The Vinten 3170-202 is a 3/8" mounting screw for camera to mounting plate connectivity. This screw will fit on Vinten quick release plates to mount cameras on Vinten fluid heads. This screw can be used as a replacement on the mounting plates or an addition to the 1/4-20 used on the smaller heads.

What can I say other than: it's a screw and it works. It properly fits the camera plates and is the proper type of steel, not too soft, not too brittle, so your camera will not be landing on pavement.
