Unit arrived on time. Works well with plenty of volume in a mid-sized room. I've not tried it outside on in a large room. My only complaint is with the IPhone interface. Four buttons are provided on the unit to for repeat, play/ pause, next and previous. But half the screen on the IPhone is covered making it impossible to access all the phone's on-screen menus. Also it's difficult to get the phone to seat correctly. I got around this by buying an extension cable for the phone and securing the phone on the top of the unit for better access to the IPhone controls. I would recommend this to a friend.

I use this PA in a music classroom setting. I use the handheld wireless for "crowd control" and hook a metronome, CD player and iPod into the unit at various times. Pros include having a wireless handheld unit built in, with a lightweight microphone included, as well as having a number of 3/4" inputs for various devices. The portability is also nice, with wheels and a collapsable handle making it easy to move. The biggest con would be the sound quality. The speaker has a noticeable hum when it is on, and the wattage is a little lacking. For the price and the size, I was hoping for a little more power and a little better sound. So if you want to use this for quality audio amplification, you might go to a higher price point if possible, to get more watts and a better speaker. But if you are using it primarily for speaking, and in a contained space such as a classroom, it will serve you just fine.

My nine year old loves to use this for karaoke, listening to music, and playing her electric guitar. Sometimes she gets feedback from the mic but that's probably user error. The sound is clear, it's loud, and has a lot of spots to hook various cords too (for extra microphones, for example). It's fairly heavy so rolling it for a child can be difficult or risky. Overall it's a big hit so far.

We use this unit all the time for our patio parties hooking to our iphones. Great sound. The wireless mic allows us to also do Karaoke by using lyrics programs like SoundHound on our iPads. Makes for lots of good fun!!

Overall big bang for the $buck$. Good audio quality and volume, wireless mic is a joke but I already knew that from reviews before purchase, ipod dock should be sheltered from the elements especially when used outdoors.

I'm not going to lie, this is an amazing portable system. 5 hour battery life? That's amazing. I even run it at Max volume and the battery still last. Don't expect HD quality sound from a battery powered speaker though. The sound is ok. It's only a little distorted if you turn it up to the max. Overall, it does the job!!

Comments about Pyle Pro PWMA1080i Portable PA System with iPod Dock & Wireless Microphone:
Bought this to use outdoors for our dance troupe. Loved the portability, and this is the first battery-powered PA I've found that is actually loud enough for our purposes. The sound quality wasn't fantastic, but would have worked for us. The problem was the iPod dock - it was defective right out of the box. All I got was static and very faint sound when my Nano 5th generation was connected. The dock's controls are really poorly designed, too. There is a less expensive version of this PA that doesn't have the iPod dock, so I may try it just so we have a battery-powered unit.
