When shopping for replacement projector lamps, it's often hard to distinguish authentic branded products from lower cost knock-offs. While I don't have experience with the latter category and can't confidently state that authentic lamps work longer, I decided to take no chances with an expensive replacement lamp. If authentic is what you are looking for, this is the place to buy. I've done a lot of research and found B&H's price to be among the lowest in the market (you can save another $10-20 but you will have to deal with shadowy no-name web sites). The lamp came in a box sealed with the Epson holographic label, and a close examination revealed no differences from the original lamp that came with my projector. Also, it arrived really quickly. Can't comment on longevity, but after four months of moderate usage, it's going strong. A good buy.

This the standard OEM replacement lamp for my Epson Home Cinema 8350 projector (1080p). My last lamp lasted 2805 hours, which I was very happy about. For my screen setup I use the lamp on the 'family room' setting, as 'dynamic' doesn't seem to be any different for my room and the bulb life is less on dynamic mode.
This is the genuine article OEM Epson replacement lamp with genuine housing. Brightness and longevity will be compromised if you elect to go with a cheaper, 'made for epson' or imposter product.
After searching many online retailers, B&H had the genuine article for the best price, and they shipped it out same day. I received the very next day by noon (as I specified next day shipping). A+ service and product.
Highly recommended. Don't waste your time with imitations, it will cost you much more in the long run.

My 8350 lamp went out on a Wednesday after only 1400 hours and I was having a UFC fight party that Saturday. I went into panic mode and started searching for a lamp online. The reviews I read about the cheaper Chinese ones were a nightmare. When I came across this site and read the reviews I knew this was the one I needed to buy. The Lamp made it here the day before the fight, and when I installed it I could not believe how bright and clear the picture looked. I did not realize how dark my old bulb had gotten. The Lamp was packaged very well, it was wrapped in bubble wrap and you could probably fit a basketball it that box. Bottom line DON'T BUY THE CHINESE KNOCK OFFS!! There is substitute for the real thing. BH Video was $xx cheaper than Epson and it was a genuine Epson Lamp. I also read online that if you put your projector in "High Altitude Mode" it will help cool the bulb and increase the life of it

When you're buying replacement parts, it's hard to know what you're getting. Are you getting a genuine replacement part from EPSON or are you getting a black or grey market part? Are you getting the full part or just the lamp? B&H takes all the worry out of that. What you order is what you get. Is it the cheapest on the web? Trust me, you don't want the cheapest. Look at the reviews of some of those 'bottom feeder' sites and you'll see lots of very unhappy customers.

Good: If this is the OEM version of the bulb, it ended up lasting us over 2.5 years with heavy use (4000+ hrs).

Bad: We needed to replace the first one that came because it was DOA. Although we were sent out a new bulb with next day delivery, it took 4 days to get the bulb and the presentation we had scheduled was canceled due to no delivery.

Ugly: This projector is known for bulb issues, most notiably due to the lack of cooling. The way we get the most out of our bulbs with this projector is to put it into "High Altitude" mode and we cut the paper filter out of the black plastic frame it comes in and put 1" high density foam (filters commonly found in vacuum cleaners). The bulb stays cooler, lasts longer and we can wash and reuse the filter 50+ times at least.

Be careful of people selling knock-off lamps. If they aren't OEM then they probably don't meet the projector manufacturers' original specification. I almost bought a less expensive "OEM" version from another site. After reading more about it, it was "OEM"-like.

This lamp has been great. I'm on my second replacement lamp and they work fine and meet or exceed the duration stated by the manufacturer.

Tried to buy a discount bulb which never arrived and had one previously that did not last very long. Bought the projector originally from B&H and went back and bought the factory bulb at the best price available. It arrived in no time and the picture is better than when the projector was new. I'll stick with the best, B&H and the original bulb from now on.

My original lamp from the factory lasted only 1000 hours. They replaced it under warrantee and the new one lasted about 2600 hours before it popped.

I found the best price for an OEM lamp was here and bought it. It looked every bit as good as the originals. I am now at 2100 hours heading into NFL playoff season and our team has a chance at making it to the Super Bowl.

Taking no chances and ordering a backup now. Hopefully I will get another 1000+ hours out of the current lamp. But I know I am running on borrowed time.

Lamp provides a great picture with amazing contrast and good visibility, even in daylight. Unfortunately, this is my third bulb and have average less than 1,000 hours of use, 1/4th the rated lifespan.

Bought this to replace original lamp that had burned out. So far everything works great. I readjusted the focus on my screen and I have a beautiful picture in High Definition. I reset the projector's lamp timer so I can track the number of lamp hours used. Installation was very easy; all I needed was a small phillips screwdriver. They even included a tool to open the projector cover.

I have the The Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 8500UB and have used it as home theater projector for mere 297 hours prior to the lamp malfunctioning and needing replacement. Not sure its the lamp fault but overall great disappointment from what is a flagship of Epson's home HD projector.

It was amazing how dull our old lamp had gotten. Once we placed this new one in it was like having a brand new projector. Lamp was easy to install and shipping was really fast. I was worried about something this fragile being shipped, bit it was packaged well and survived the commute. I would highly recommend getting this lamp, B&H does you right and their products are just like the description!

FYI, Don't forget to clean your projector filter once a month!

This bulb is as bright as the original, and works perfectly. B&H Photo shipped it to me within 2 business days. Couldn't ask for anything more.

One thing to note though, a lot of people have mentioned that this bulb does not last the number of hours Epson claims it will. My original bulb lasted 1450 hours. I'm optimistically hoping for this replacement bulb will last a little longer than that.
