The Tiffen 82mm UV Haze 1 Filter is a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. This filter is especially useful when photographing at high altitudes or around bodies of water. No additional coloration or contrast is provided, allowing you to pair this filter with others.
The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.
Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology; a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting to precision metal rings.

Such a good quality I've never seen.
I use this product with VIVITAR SIERIES 1 120-600.
what I can say is "This is the best for what I used to pay for"

If I want the same grade of product, I have to pay in double money such as B+W.

One Teensy Problem
This is a nice filter, but there is one teensy problem. The standard Canon lens cap does not fit it well. I wish I had know that. I will live with it.

Comments about Tiffen 82mm UV Haze 1 Filter:
Works fine, I buy these primarily to protect my lenses. A little bit pricey, since I guess manufacturers know that the lenses that these fit on are much more expensive by comparison. Also, while using this filter, the lens cap on my Sigma 24-70 2.8 doesn't fit quite right (it has stayed on so far, but it clearly doesn't seat itself as well on the end of the barrel as it does with no filter on).
