I got this screen thinking that it would be helpful in using the rule of thirds. On the Vertical it is, but the horizontal is divided into quarters which does me almost no good ...Read complete review
I got this screen thinking that it would be helpful in using the rule of thirds. On the Vertical it is, but the horizontal is divided into quarters which does me almost no good over just eyeballing it. The simple instructions that came with it are all you need to get the instal job done. I read the manual after I had handled the screen with my fingers. Don't do that.

This is the best focusing screen for my A850.I love it a lot and I love the way I can compose my photos now ,keeping the horizon straight and other elements are the way it should be ,helping a lot for PP.

I purchased this focusing screen to use on my A850. I am a beginner trying to make sure that I have all the best gear to help me get the best shots and figured that I needed this. I did't. It does help to do a better job of deviding the field of view into more exacting dementions but if your eye is good you don't really need that. It was a very simple install and the provided tools are a big help.

Really updated my a900 with a new focusing screen. I love the lines this screen has, not sure why it didnt come standard on the a900 - this really improves your ability to shoot on a straight line horizontally.
Highly recommend for someone doing studio work or Portraits!

I did not know you could change your focus screen until I read about it in an architectural photography book. I was constantly having to adjust my images in PhotoShop because they were slightly tilted. The focus screen has almost eliminated that problem by giving me a grid to line things up against.
The only con, is that is was a little difficult to install and you have to be very careful not to get dust on it or you will see it through the view finder.

I bought the focusing screen to help line up horizon lines and architectural features. It was easy to install, took about 10 minutes from reading the instruction sheet to actual installation. The included tweezers make the job a lot easier.

This lined grid screen is very useful in getting the horizon straight and lining things up as well as composing shots. Installation was a breeze as well. No complaints just remember to change the focus screen type on your A900 or it won't meter properly.
