Comments about hahnel HRN 280 Remote Shutter Release for Nikon:

I use this release most often with a home made 200" extension for wildlife photography -- way better than a telephoto lens.

Out of the box, the release is perfect for studio work. The twist lock cable ensures that nothing comes apart.

        I have no complaints whatsoever.

Comments about hahnel HRN 280 Remote Shutter Release for Nikon:

I used onece. It works on Nikon D-300. The connection is for multiple purpose and it is not good. It is kind of lose.
It is cheaper than Nikon original one but should be cheaper even this one.

Comments about hahnel HRN 280 Remote Shutter Release for Nikon:

This works very well and has adapter cables to fit various models of cameras. I especially enjoy the extra length. The shutter release button can be locked in for either rapid shooting or for long exposures. This is an excellent product and I was looking for a release that was longer than 3 feet but could not find extensions for the MC-DC2. I can understand people wanting to go wireless but this product does not require batteries. All of my batteries seem to die when I need them the most. This is one less thing for me to worry about.

It has a great feel to it. seems to be very well made.

Comments about hahnel HRN 280 Remote Shutter Release for Nikon:

I am a firm believer in remote shutter release, as it greatly enhances photo quality. I haven't had this one very long so I can't assess durability, but it seems to do everything it is supposed to and feels sturdy in my hand. It focuses the camera, and works with bulb setting. The cord extension that allows me to get a couple meters further away from the camera was a key reason why I selected this over the "original equipment manufacturer's" version.
It does not work with the timer. In all fairness, the manufacturer said that it would not. I couldn't think of any example when I would use both the timer and the remote release, so I purchased it anyway and have been pleased.
The size of the knurled knob, coupled with the location of the D300S connector, makes it a little difficult to connect; but I have small fingers so it's not a problem for me. It comes with a 3" long cable as the primary connection, so you could leave that shortie cable connected all the time if you didn't mind it hanging off the front of the camera.

Comments about hahnel HRN 280 Remote Shutter Release for Nikon:

I purchased this product for Macro work, but have found myself using it for all shots that require super steady hands. I have always thought that I did not shake, but after using this cable release for two weeks, i realize that even the most steady hands cant avoid shake, especially in low light. This has greatly improved my pictures, and it is more evident when photos are blown up. I held back one star because i have not had the unit long enough to determine its durability.
