Comments about Sachtler 1006 DV 10 SB Fluid Head:
As with all Sachtler products, this tripod head is solid. I paired this head with a set of Sachtler CF sticks, and it's probably the last tripod i'll ever need to buy. The overall package is heavy, but the stability it provides is worth it. My only complaint is I can't set the counterbalance perfectly. But it's extremely close. I'm using an EX1R, and have no issues. The wide range of supported weights means this tripod can be used with almost any camera. The illuminated level bubble is a god send. My previous head was a 20 year old Sachtler Video 14 II.

Comments about Sachtler 1006 DV 10 SB Fluid Head:
I bought this head to use with my Sony EX3 & longer focal length lenses. With a 300mm lens i can get steady pans & tilts. It is relatively light weight so carrying it long distances in the bush is no problem. Great adjustability allows me to get perfect balance with any of the lenses i have on the camera at any time. Pan handle could have a softer grip to help out with vibrations caused when touching the handle, but it certainly isn't a deal breaker.

Comments about Sachtler 1006 DV 10 SB Fluid Head:
This fluid head is an excellent choice for those looking for 100mm bowl-based stability in a package of relative small size. To begin with, the build quality is amazing. This thing is built like a tank; if you so much as rapp your knuckle on to DV-10 too hard, it's going to sting. It feels incredibly solid and I have no doubt at all that it would last 20 years if it was taken care of. I bought this fluid head for use with my Sony EX-3 as well as my two completely tricked out DLSR rigs, a Canon 7D and 1D mkIV, respectively. Even with a fully kitted-out EX-3, this head makes excellently smooth pans & tilts, all of the way up to its full 26 lb capacity (and honestly, if you wanted to it feels like it could go way past that and still get the job done). I have also used this head for video, panning and tilting like crazy, with ONLY my 7D and a 30mm lens on it. Considering that the total weight of those two items is a mere 3-4 lbs, I was expecting the head to have major problems counterbalancing. This is not the case. It doesn't quite snap back the way that it would with a fully-loaded ENG style camera mounted, but I was impressed at how much sensitivity it did have with such low weight. Very versatile, silky smooth panning and tilting, and build like it's bullet proof. I strongly recommend the DV-10 SB.

Comments about Sachtler 1006 DV 10 SB Fluid Head:
It's a real privilege to work with such a nice piece of equipment. This head is exactly what has been missing from my kit . . .I should had bought it sooner. It does indeed extend our ability to capture great video. Aspiration for graceful starts, responsive tracking of quick movement, and stable stops are (at last) all within the grasp of my most fleeting impulse - with almost no distraction whatsoever from this piece of hardware. For the most part, it simply melts into the background and does a superb job helping capture fantastic shots. Set-up is blazingly fast and easy. Very lightweight for the task it performs.
One possible improvement would be to offer more dial-in at the lowest SpeedBalance settings (perhaps half steps) for light-weight configurations. I suppose nothing is perfect, but this thing is close. Thanks Sachtler!

Comments about Sachtler 1006 DV 10 SB Fluid Head:
The DV-10 tripod head from Sachtler is very smooth and easy to work with. The "click-stop" drag adjustments are great for getting the drag set quickly and consistently.
Once you get it set for a particular camera, it's easy to set up the same way, no matter how many setups you do in a day. With this head there is less time spent messing around with getting the head set right and more time on getting the shot set right.
The counterbalance works well and the ball mount in solid and stable.
If I could change anything it would be to add 2 or 3 more settings on the drags and counterbalance, just to give it finer adjustment, but that's a very nitpicky request.

Comments about Sachtler 1006 DV 10 SB Fluid Head:
Best fluid head in its class. Smooth pan and tilts with enough drag for long-lens work. Strong counter-balance and the head supports weights well pass its recommended weight of 24lbs.
Performs well in cold or hot weather (viscosity of the fluid unaffected by temperature), and is the perfect head for DSLR rigs/and set-ups. Well worth the price and way better than any Manfrotto head I've used.

Comments about Sachtler 1006 DV 10 SB Fluid Head:
I recently upgraded to the DV-10SB from a FSB-6 fluid head. The DV-10SB performs beautifully with my DSLR video rigs. Though my cameras are small and light, the addition of many externals demand a larger tripod head. I also find the quick-release very handy with my DSLRs. For quick setups and tear-downs, this feature is a must. Great product, overall.
