I was given this case as a present at the beginning of this year (2011) from someone thoughtful enough to check my B & H wish list.

I use this case every day and it has replace a smaller Tamrac bag that I use to use. It comfortable carries all my equipment as a working and travelling pro sports shooter. 2 x1D bodies, 400mm f2.8, 16-35mm, 24-70mm, 70-200mm, 3x 580 EXII speed lites, 3x pocket wizards, battery pack for speed lite as well as various cards and cables.

I find the case to be sturdy enough to protect my equipment yet still very manoeuvrable. Zippers seem to strong as well as the handle.

One big problem however has been the wheels. After only a short time (6 months) the wheels have completely worn out. Lowepro talks about removable wheels but does not allow you to buy replacements. Their back up and support has been less than helpful. My solution was to head down to the local inline skate shop and buy some heavier grade wheels that fit the case perfectly.

Outside of the Wheel problem I find this case to be a winner.

I have purchased lowepro for all my lenses, bags, and now the roller.

I was going on a trip for vacation, and wanted to take it for travels to museums, acquariums, and even a bit of mountain climbs, (Back pack comes out of roller!)

Here is my experience with it brand new:

    A) The Good
    * TSA lock - beautifully executed; odd though, each way on the flight, my wife's bag was checked and the usual TSA inspection was found upon arrival - mine was not opened at all...uumm.. maybe TSA lost the keY? hehe
    * Inner lining zips out - I wasn't hauling anything illegal in that inner lining, but i popped all the padding/dividers out of the inner compartment, and put them all inside the liner; used the case as luggage (all my clothes for the trip) and carried all my lenses and camera in a backpack on the plane (also a lowepro :) ) - note: the carry-on size limit was 45", this bag exterior is 54"... so i couldn't take it as carry on... but when i got on the plane, i saw sooooo many people who's "carry on" was muuuucccch larger than the lowepro. I could have carried it on. Risky though. didn't want to arrive at the airport at check in to find i had to check my equip as underplane luggage. :(

    * Grip is outstandingly soft, wheels super quiet, Tripod side/front mount awesome.
    * The rear bag prop - holds the bag at a 45 degree angle when needed (changing lenses) so you don't have to lay it down on the ground to change lenses. I put it to heavy use :) indispensible feature in my book.
    * best of all took all my lenses and camera everywhere. (10 lenses and gripped DSLR).
    In heaven on vacation

    B) The BAD
*The zippers were sooooo hard to zip, I was almost certain it would break during the trip ( it didn't ...but at the cost of this piece, i shouldn't have have to treat it with kid gloves)
    * one zipper did not have the loop to hook the lock wire through, had to use the end of the zipper...kind of cheezy...made me wonder if the item was a refurbished unit (though it was sold by a reputable source, and not sold as used or refurb)
    * The Tripod holder was too small for even 2 full tripod feet... had to stretch the elastic over by hand to keep it in place
    * The tripod holder holes to slip the holder belts are made of very thin leather...so thin, that after 3 days, its already ready to break
    * TSA LOCK - No clear instructions included with the lock... just picture instructions. Okay, maybe Im a dunce, but it took me 15 minutes of trial and error to figure it out without using the non-helpful pics on the "so-called"instructions.

    * The Rear Bag-prop that holds the bag at 45 degrees when changing lenses - should have a metal liner and metal on the end that touches the ground... but its made of card board, only padded by the outter roller material. After 3 days, it is scraped so severly that the material is unraveling on the end. It is also unstable - it does not lock into place, you'll have to bend it by hand/foot outward and let the weight of the bag create torque to keep it open...cheezy
    * biggest, terriblest, saddest disappointment.... really big let down.... after 3 days of carting 10 lenses around, the wheels are worn down so far that they have become lopsided... add insult to injury - the shaft that holds the wheels has bowed downward from the weight.. and has caused the bottom plastic to drag on the ground and scrapped so badly that there is almost a hole in the plastic. It looks like i've had the bag for about 3 years... seriously... but its only 3 day trip.

Okay, so there's my real life review after 3 full days of use with LowePro's Roller x300.
    In summary:
If you only intend to use the bag from time to time, its perfect; if you only intend to take a few small lenses quite often, the bag is maybe overkill, but perfect.... BUT... with the cost of this model, who spends this kind of money to use it seldomly, or only carry a couple lenses?

While the bag has the potential to be "killer" (in a good way), the poor overall quality of the bag was a "killer" for me - made me feel I got a knock off with the LowePro name. (The Quality of the other items I've purchased from LP were so far higher, and cost so much less... I'm wondering if i did indeed get a knock-off".) maybe B+H can look into that.

Everything I need in one place!

    By Sproqetz

    from Kalamazoo, MI

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x300 Case:

I shoot with a MFT camera and I needed a case to hold a large kit: 9 lenses, including a Canon 300 2.8. 3 Macro lenses, an extender, a 3d junior camera head, a GoPro H3 with a pile of GoPro kits, and a small pouch with Allen wrenches and screw drivers. So I'm a needy shooter, sue me. This rolls along with no problem. Beautiful.

    Spacious Back Saver

    By Ebtide2325

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x300 Case:

This back is very spacious with plenty of capacity to hold 2 DSLR bodies with lenses and full compliment of accessories. Converts from roller to backpack nicely. Would benefit from a cumberbund strap in backpack mode but straps are hardy.

Lowepro Pro roller is the one you want

    By Rex

    from Jackson Hole (this week)

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x300 Case:

I have the summer version of this bag and it has had a hard life. It travels about 250 days a year into all kinds of crazy places and it never has let me down. I shoot RED and I can put a nice little kit of almost everything I need in the bag for a photo journalistic day on location. The roller bag becomes a back pack in about 20 seconds, and the back pag is actually vomfortable even with. 30 lbs of stuff. Tough durable smart. Love this bag.
Stars not working on my phone but this is a 5 star product.

I truly love this roller bag so much. this give me tons of space for my photography products, by having 6-8 space for lens, two camera space, safe place for my laptop, different spot to hold my tripod (front or side), and tons of extra pockets for other items. I do love the idea to have two in one which mean i can make this into a backpack by pulling out and then leave the other case into a suitcase. so i can use to bring other photography equipments i need to bring by having extra more space. it is the big MUST Buy and having it for rest of your photography career.

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x300 Case:

I was originally planning on just using a suitcase for my camera and make shift some compartments. My wife got this case for me for my birthday. This is one amazing case, fully configurable compartments, the ability to remove the camera equipment case and have it as a backpack and use the body as a suitcase for travel. This case fits everything I need along with the ability to lock it so only TSA is able to open it and search and not any of the other workers in the back with luggage. I used this case for the first time this past weekend for a martial arts fight and it was a godsend.

I purchased the x200 Pro Roller a few years ago and have been very pleased with it. When my equipment expansion required additional storage and protection, the x300 was my first choice.

The build quality is typical first rate Lowe Pro. The price is very reasonable. The features are well thought out. Each of my Lowe Pro Rollers house over $40,000 in equipment, so I trust them.

Pro working 2 bodies, needs the room. Like the idea you can change out the casters.

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x300 Case:

This Roller basically stays at my studio holding lots of gear in a central location. I will take it on occasional shoots.
It's large, and generally well made. I love the organizational pockets, the tripod holder and large wheels.
Even though this weighs a ton, I would by no means consider this heavy duty pro level equipment. The telescoping handle is down right flimsy. If I took these to all my shoots then I know it would last a couple of months tops. While I love the concept of the folding prop foot in the back, it is completely way too flimsy and delicate considering the weight that is being held against it.
What I am using this roller for, it will suffice, and I like it. However, if you are planning to haul it around a lot, you may need to look elsewhere.

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x300 Case:

These cases are strong , but heavy, very well padded (maybe too much), roll easily, one holds a Sony PMW EX-3 professional hi-def video camera with a shotgun mic and shock mount, wireless mic kit, LED video ligh†, batteries and all accessories and the other holds a Nikon D700, a D7000, 80-200mm 2.8 lens, 24-70mm 2.8 lens, 4 other lenses, SB 900 flash, batteries , cards and many accessories. They are versatile, sturdy and like all the other LowePro bags and cases I have owned very long lasting and durable.

I am a wedding photographer who's back was seriously about to give out. This bag has saved me hundreds in Chiropractor bills. It fits everything I could possibly want to bring to a wedding and more. And I love the option to use it as a backpack on the plane. They thought of everything.
