I use this product to carry around my Nikon D700 with my 16-35mm or 24-120mm lens during hiking and backpacking trips. I bought the chest harness to go with this and it works like a charm: I have easy access to my camera gear without having to take off my bulky backpack, my camera is very well-protected, and since it is carried in front of me, my balance isn't thrown off. It has a very good built-in rain cover that can be deployed quickly and offers great protection from the elements.
This bag also has well-considered and convenient storage. I can fit everything I need for a week-long backpacking trip in this bag: my camera and lens (obviously), two extra memory cards (the bag has special pouches that fit CF cards snugly and securely), three extra batteries, my GPS tagger, an extra filter, a lens-pen, and shutter release cable and its remote. The only things it won't accommodate is my Q-Ball air blower and my tripod.
I have occasionally used this bag in holster-mode, with it attached to the side of my hip. It includes a strap that also goes across your body, which secures it well and keeps it from flapping about. It was comfortable to carry it this way, and would be good for urban photography.
I highly recommend this product. If you have a large DSLR/lens and need a well-protected way to carry it around with very easy access, this is your bag!

First, before I begin my rant about this product I'll say a few good words about Lowepro and their products. I find Lowepro makes great products and is one of the leading manufacturers of bags, cases, etc designed to hold your precious equipment. Overall I've been happy with their gear, but... here it comes.
After numerous instances of finding out a particular bag did not work quite right or chaffed here and there or just wasn't what I was expecting; I've come up with this bit of bag buying wisdom. If at all possible, try the bag out in person, leave the tags on, and do not throw the box or receipt away. Why? Because I've found that camera bags are like hiking boots, back packs, or rock climbing shoes. Some brands/models are just not meant to ever fit you well and will ultimately lead to chaffing or some level of dissatisfaction. Each person is different and what works well for one may not work at all for another. In this case, the bag and harness combination did not work for me (or my wife.) The problem lies in the fact that the bag tends to angle itself into my stomach or chest no matter the configuration of the harness. The top of the bag drifts outward away from you, while the bottom edge presses into you. This becomes rather uncomfortable, especially when snowshoeing, skiing, or hiking with the bag strapped to your chest. I rarely use the bag with it's single shoulder strap since I mainly purchased this to be my outdoor sports bag, used for skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, etc.
I do like the rugged construction of the bag and how spacious it is; it holds my Canon EOS 5D Mark II with 24-105mm lens perfectly. So, rather than return the bag, we've discovered a work around to its "angling" problem. Instead of using the harness which has to be purchased separately, we attach the bag to our hiking pack's shoulder strap loops or d-rings using carabiners. This works quite well with a few of our various sized packs and seems to position and hold the bag in a more neutral, upright position. I just wish the optional harness would have accomplished this on its own.
As mentioned above, I'd try the bag but leave the tags intact, box in good condition, and have the receipt handy just in case you experience similar problems.

Comments about Lowepro Top Loader Pro 70 AW Camera Bag:
I really like the Top Loader Pro 70 AW Camera Bag by Lowepro for carrying one large DSLR and accessories. This case holds my Nikon D800 camera and battery grip, with a 28-300mm lens attached. The front pocket on the case has room for filters, spare batteries, remote flash cords and such. There are two points for attaching accessory cases on the sides of the bag, for carrying spare lenses, an electronic flash, or a water bottle. A great case to hold everything you need for a days shooting. What I especially like about this top loader is that it will safely hold the camera, with the top flap open. No danger of the camera falling out on the ground.

Comments about Lowepro Top Loader Pro 70 AW Camera Bag:
Bought this bag for keeping my camera safe while climbing Mt. Rainier. Very sturdy and seemed like it would be good in cold or wet weather. Easy to access the camera and handy compartments without added bulk. I didn't use the strap that came with the bag, it seemed a bit cumbersome, but overall I really like the bag. It will definitely accompany me on many hikes in the future.Used it with a Nikon D7000 and 18-200 mm lens, room to spare.

I bought this as a "walking-around bag," for when I want to carry my 5D MkIII and one lens without lugging the rest of my gear.
The camera fits snugly inside (even with battery grip attached), and there's enough space in the top and front pockets to accommodate extra memory cards, batteries, and other odds and ends.
Sturdy material, too.

Purchased this bag for a trip to California to carry a nikon d300 with 24-70mm. I attached the battery grip on the camera which made it very snug in the bag. It was a little difficult to get the camera out of the bag with the lens hood attached, however it was very well protected and molds to the camera and lens perfectly.
My only issues with this bag was getting the camera in/out of the bag with the lens hood attached. Without the lens hood, it fits as though the bag was made for this lens and camera body.

I have two of these bags. I also have the Pro 65AW bag. The Pro 70AW model is great for a Canon 5d MkII or 7D with either the 24 to 70 mm or the 24 to 105mm Canon lenses plus their respective battery grips. The use of the chest strap is recommended when walking with the camera in it. The lining is a bit stiff and so the camera is held quite firmly in the bag. Padding is very good but should give a little over time. Excellent bag for a light days shooting when a change of lens wont be needed.
