As a military documentary photographer/videographer, I ordered two of these to mount on my LBE harness (one on each side). In order to do this, I needed connecting points on each corner of the bag - which this item had.[...]The Lowepro TL Pro performed magnificently. I used the side net pouches to stuff my lens cap in for quick, immediate storage. The zippered front was used to house Nikon SB-800's. I needed a top that both zippered and buckled closed. I use the zipper when putting the camera away for longer durations, and the buckle for security as I ran from location to location. The sizes fit my Nikon D700 with its 70-200 lens just fine (no hood). One other thing is the carry handle that sits at the top inside panel - superb. I couldn't see this in the item's add photo, and wasn't looking forward to it being there- but it was. That was the icing on the cake. That top handle is vital when seeking to grab the bag when not using the shoulder strap. This particular excercise was a paradrop mission, with Blackhawk helicopters. Getting on and off the aircraft is a quick and hasty task, and there are no second chances - so nothing can fail, be dropped, or slip out. When on the ground, the propeller wash blows everything around, sand, grass and you name it. At the end of the shoot, I didn't loose, break or damage anything - thanks to this super product - 5 stars. I'll be getting an additional bag in the near future.Review by Mike - [@](11/2009)

I purchased the newer version to replace an older model, I have gone through a couple over the years. The zippers fail otherwise I would still be using the old models. The new zipper has a less tight bend and should last longer.

The newer version has an improved main lid zipper design, but In my opinion is 90 degrees off, opening side to side rather than back to front. Using this with a Lens Case, both lids open against each other making a lens swap more awkward.

To accommodate the new zipper orientation, one of the slip locks straps has been removed.

The rain cover is terrible and its design is pure marketing driven trumping functionality. The old rain cover was simple and to slip on and off taking only took a few seconds. One could use both slip lock slide straps with the old style rain cover.

The new model requires one to remove the shoulder strap to put on the rain cover, it takes a lot longer to put on and it renders the sliplock strap useless to all but the smallest slip lock attachments.

Lens cases, water bottle holders or larger pouches like the 60AW ect... will need to be removed, and can not be used with the rain cover on.

The SlipLock straps themselves have been degraded. Before consisting of a wide strap, with a narrower strap over top, which was handy size for attaching other items to with carabiners, has been replaced with a single wide strap with grey stitching in the middle, to make it look like the older two strap set up for product shots.

If you have never used the old case, and have no slip lock attachments or never go out in the rain, it is a decent case, worthy of 4 or 5 stars.

But after using the old case design....

Comments about Lowepro Top Loader Pro 75 AW Camera Bag:

Nice bag. I've always used Lowepro bags and mistakenly got the Toploader Zoom 55 AW for my 70-200 f2.8 lens. It was 1" too short. This Toploader Pro 75 AW is 1" longer and 2.5X the price. It has a lot more features that I don't think I'll use like a cross strap that pushes on my ribs and a mesh pen pocket. The front pocket is not as large as the cheaper bag. And the bag is heavier than the cheaper bag. Still, it is a fine bag. Just wish it were simpler and cheaper.

Comments about Lowepro Top Loader Pro 75 AW Camera Bag:

I wouldn't change anything about this case, everything about it is premium quality; design, materials and execution. It is a perfect fit for a full-frame camera with battery grip and the 70-200L attached. Just the right amount of storage for the small stuff, perfectly placed; one on the top lid, one of the side. You can easily open it and extract the camera with only one hand, which can be useful at times. You also can attach to it an additional Lowepro lens case, from the S&F series.

Comments about Lowepro Top Loader Pro 75 AW Camera Bag:

          PROS:

          -- Quick top access
-- Very durable nylon material at the base. I feel it would provide good protection if you accidental set the bag on a puddle.
-- Strap doesn't get twisted up like cheaper bags.
-- Holds Nikkor 55mm-300mm lens with hood attached.
-- Outer pocket can be used with SB-700
-- Outer loop great for expansion
-- Top pocket holds good number of small accessories
-- Outer mesh useful for frequently accessed items and notepad

          CONS:

-- I wish there was a more secure support for a monopod or tripod. A monopod doesn't stay in place well but this is a minor issue. Maybe a future version of this bag will have some universal holster system.
-- Flash unit does not fit very well in the main compartment as advertised. You might have luck if you're using a small lens and a smaller dslr. But I've put my SB-700 in the outer pocket.
-- Water proof bag could be implemented better. At first it was a little difficult to figure out how to wrap it around and you have to remove the straps. It really could be a quicker process. And when it's back in the case, it adds bulk to the outer wall which takes away some room when adding an extra accessory in the main camera compartment. On the other hand that can provide extra protection.

          SUMMARY:

In my bag: Nikon d90, 55mm-300mm lens w/ hood extended, sb 700 in outer compartment, and 50mm lens in seperate bag on outer loop.

This bag is awesome for the on the go photographer who likes to bring their camera everywhere and wants a good choice of accessories.

I bought this because I needed something to carry my camera with a Tamron 70-200 2.8 lens attached. It fits really well in this bag and it's easy to get to. I don't think it would fit well in the smaller bag, the 70 AW.

Comments about Lowepro Top Loader Pro 75 AW Camera Bag:

Just purchased and haven't used outside of the house yet. But it appears to be exactly what it is online. It's big, but that's the point. It holds a full frame DSLR (Nikon D700) with grip and 70-200. The body fits pretty snug around the opening, making it a little hard to get your hand around the grip. But the side cut out helps. Seems durable and dependable. I met another photographer on the road who had another lens case strapped to the side and said that worked well for him, though obviously even heavier. Glad I bought this, I'm looking forward to using it. Gave 4 stars because I'm having some trouble with the extra strap. Not sure how it's suppose to connect and there weren't any instructions or even pictures showing that extra strap in use.

Comments about Lowepro Top Loader Pro 75 AW Camera Bag:

great for walking around and hiking(with optional harness). Nicely constructed, has a heavy duty feel. Nicely padded.
It was tough to choose between the 70AW and the 75AW. Basically the same bag but the 75AW is longer.
75AW is bit large(lengthwise). Not really a problem especially if you are sporting a long lens. If your using a shorter lens seem too big. Would be nice if Lowepro just made the 70AW as an extendable bag. The flexibility would make for a great all around bag!
A little bit difficult to put the rain cover on but should get easier with practice.

Comments about Lowepro Top Loader Pro 75 AW Camera Bag:

This bag has everything I need and more. First the zippered lid hinges to the side, so when wearing it with a harness, the top is out of the way, giving great access to the camera. The lid also has a separate compartment with small Velcro pouches for memory cards which is very handy as well. Everything about the sturdy construction and heavy hardware is as expected with LowePro. I have several bags and none have ever disappointed. Also has a waterproof hood built in so your never caught off guard. The bag has additional net pouches and the side also has webbing, which works great for my Gitzo monopod. **see photo

This bag fits my canon 5d3 with attached 24-105 lens and leaves enough room to also store a small lens in the bottom compartment. The included shoulder strap system is great and allows you to snugly hold the bag against your side while hiking.

This toploader is just the ticket for my Nikon D7000 with the 70-300mm VR lens. With the attached chest harness, the pack provides easy access, outstanding protection and room for small attachments. It's perfect for hiking, even in bad weather, with your camera always ready to shoot birds or other wildlife. I also like that it has a rain cover.

Comments about Lowepro Top Loader Pro 75 AW Camera Bag:

This is a great holster-style camera bag for the times you just want your DSLR and a 70-200 f2.8 lens with reversed hood attached. The construction is very durable with stiff protective padding. It has better padding than other similar cases I examined. It will also double as a bag carrying two shorter lenses, e.g., 24-70 f2.8 and fisheye or similar because it has a padded separator for placing one lens in the bottom and camera with lens attached in the top. Accessory compartments on the top and side make it easy to store memory cards, batteries, filters, cleaning kit, etc. It also comes with a rain jacket and a stitched-on side strap for attaching another lens case. I bought the 11x14cm case to go with it to carry a 24-70 if I need to and still be relatively compact. I looked at four of five cases designed for a similar purpose and I think this is the best of the lot. By the way, The camera/lens compartment is just big enough to contain the camera and lens with a battery grip attached. It's a great bag.

Once again, B&H prices are the best.
The bag is great. My D300 with it's 17-55mm f2.8 lens & huge hood fits like a glove.

Only minor drawback is the Velcro held shelf that's supposed to support the cameras body in place. With my hood, the camera is tricky to slip into it final place. I have to push the self aside to get the lens in...
