I needed a case to hold my cameras and video equipment. I had no problems putting everything in. I also wanted the case to fit under the seat on the airplane and bus. It was just what I needed. The size was right, with plenty of room.

The bag has plenty of room to carry everything you would ever want.
The only reason I gave it a 4 is because it is a bit bulky, probably because of the laptop storage. I have owned many Tamrac bags and love their product

Comments about Tamrac 5611 Ultra Pro 11 Camera Case:

I previously had a camera bag with similar dimensions but the Tamrac bag is far superior due mainly to the generous storage pockets. A number of my small to meduim items such as battery charger, filters, shutter release, cables would end up in the bottom of my old bag making things not easily excessable. The main compartment can be changed to your needs as the padded walls are velcro attached. The depth of the bag is perfect as I can stand my Canon 400mm 5.6 upright along with four other lenses and a full frame DSLR.The bag is quality built and very well priced.

I will use this bag for gear storage and for transporting on trips. It is well layed out and provides quick access to everything. It also has space for future gear additions. The only drawback I have found is that the zippers blend in with the bag fabric but that could be an age thing.

Comments about Tamrac 5611 Ultra Pro 11 Camera Case:

I have been trying to find a bag for my 5D, 70-200,24-70, flash, filters, cards, batteries and a few other small items. After lots of measuring and figuring, this bag seemed to be the right size. Going by the internal dimensions, the bag seems to be a bit larger than the listed dimensions, and will hold a lot more gear than I was looking for.

I wound up with a smaller bag (about 2" less width) that does the job for me.

This Tamrac bag was well made and sturdy, lots of pockets. The 4 star rating was given because it still is a bit cumbersome to get to the lower level of gear (most bags have this same shortcoming).

Holds all my existing equipment and accessories with room--but not TOO much room--for more...AND it fits under the seat on the plane. Great design, top quality. Also like it that Tamrac provides "exploded" views of their bag interiors on their website, so that you can see exactly what each bag can hold. Only one complaint: don't like the location of the tripod straps on the bottom. I think it would fit on the back of the bag at the top and still leave room to slide it the flap over a luggage pull.

Comments about Tamrac 5611 Ultra Pro 11 Camera Case:

I have a smaller bag that I use for carrying my Nikon D300 along with a spare lens and a few minimal supplies. I bought this Tamrac bag for organized safe storage and transport, not for walking around. It is very well padded and has lots of internal storage pockets. The internal dividers can be easily rearranged. It has plenty of room for two camara bodies and 6 good sized lense. Or 5 lenses and an external flash.
The lid has a large overhang all the way around, along with a zipper and buckles to give good protection from dust and light rain, even without the rain cover on. It would be big and heavy, fully loaded, for a walking around bag, but it is perfect for my storage and transport purposes.

Well made, holds everything I have very securely. Easy to carry - well balanced.

Like the slip over handle on roller bag but be sure and tuck strap into handle - I caught on airline seat a few times.

I use the product to hold my camera and my many lenses. I plan to use it to hold two cameras and lenses I will use for weddings.

I like how large it is, and that I know longer need to bring additional bags with me for my personal belonging.

It would have been nicer if the laptop pocket was a little larger, it holds my mac book, but I can't zip it up.

If you want a case that will hold 2 DSLR's with lens and 4 extra lenses and a laptop this is it. It is big and heavy when all in loaded. I will use when I travel but only for holding equipment. Will use smaller case during day. All in All this is a great case.

Comments about Tamrac 5611 Ultra Pro 11 Camera Case:

As most will discover, photographers usually end up with quite a few number of "bags" for their gear as they expand their collection. I am no different. I was adding another body to my collection and I wanted something to keep all my gear "under one roof". I already have one of the Lowepro Sling bags which works great for a Rebel, 2 lenses and a small flash, but now I needed a shoulder bag that would carry all if not most of my gear to a wedding shoot.

I first ordered the Tamrac Pro System 8 shoulder bag. After receiving it, I found it to be way too small for what I needed. So I went back to the drawing board this time paying more attention to the listed dimensions of each bag. I finally decided to try this Ultra Pro 11. Too bad I can't show you pictures of how I "rearranged" some of the dividers, but this is a summarized list of everything I managed to fit into this bag:

                                      Main compartment:
EOS 7D with battery grip and EF 28-135mm attached with hood reversed
EOS XSi body with battery grip
EF 70-200mm f2.8 IS with hood reversed
EF 100mm f2.8 Macro with hood reversed
Speedlight 430EX with Stofen diffuser attached

                                      The Top and front pockets:
                                      XSi battery wall charger
                                      7D battery wall charger
                                      XSi grip's AA battery holder
                                      7D grip's AA battery holder
                                      2 XSi batteries
                                      1 7D battery
                                      Various memory cards
                                      2 small Blowers
                                      Various short Canon Cables
                                      Case with 8 AA batteries
                                      USB Multi card reader
                                      2 Wired Remote releases
                                      Lens pen cleaner
                                      Camera strap
                                      Manuals and gray cards

The top and front pockets are roomy and you can "stuff" things into them as much as you're comfortable with. Of course the most important part is the main compartment. Tamrac does a good job putting velcro tabs almost everywhere so you can customize it the way you like. As I mentioned I had to move some dividers around to the way I liked it. It's roomy enough to fit the gear I mentioned and I still have a slot left for perhaps another speedlight flash. I am thinking of getting another lens like the EF 24-105 and I believe if I move some stuff around I should be able to get that in there too.

It's nice knowing that you have that rain cover. That wasn't a deal breaker because I wasn't planning to be caught in a hurricane with that bag. Even without a rain cover the material of the bag is very water resistant and the way it closes and seals, dirt or water would find a very difficult time getting in. Read Tamrac's description and download their pdf brochure with nice color pictures and diagrams of this bag.

The back "pocket is nice and I've shoved about 5 issues of Pop Photo in it comfortably. The little pocket on the top flap is handy for little things. My laptop slot is actually unused because my 15" laptop is actually a tad too big to fit perfectly, but if you have a smaller sized laptop, it should fit nicely and it's well padded. Actually if I really had to I could get my 15" laptop in there but the top flap won't zipper close, but you can still keep the flap closed with the straps in the front and side. Also since that laptop compartment is in the front, you won't be "pressing" on a laptop like bags that put the laptop compartment on the back of the bag that goes against your body when carrying.

The size of this bag is hard to gauge by the picture so look at the dimensions and carefully picture how big it will be. This is quite a large bag and it will bring attention to yourself when carrying it around. To me it's like walking around with a medium sized igloo on a shoulder strap! I knew I was going to need a "big" bag to hold all my gear but I will only bring this bag on location shoots where I don't know exactly what I'll need and to weddings where anything can happen so you bring "everything". Thus I don't need to remind anyone that you have to be careful because with all that gear in one place it's a thief's prize! So when I'm just going to my son's school to shoot a play, I just use my smaller Lowepro bag and take what I need.

One thing that someone else mentioned that I found to be true: Moving around all those dividers by detaching and reattaching all that velcro leaves little bits of black velcro all over the bag which will stick to your lenses and gear. After you've got all the dividers the way you want, empty the bag, take it outside and give it a really good shake or take a vacuum to it. This isn't a fault of the bag, just thought I'd mention it.

I wanted a bag where the camera would store horizontally instead of with the lens "down" so that was another reason why I chose this bag. There are a gazillion camera bags out there and you can drive yourself nuts going through all of them. There's never a perfect bag, but this one does the job for me. Happy Shooting.

I have used and now own many photo bags over the years but never seem to find just the right design. The Tamrac Pro 5611 is just the case I have been wanting. The design is just right for two Pro bodies with zooms, a couple of extra lenses, two camera flash units, and accessories, without being too large. It is well constructed and makes it very easy to access your gear. Total weight loaded is only twenty pounds. I highly recommend this bag.
