The Slik F630 Tripod is a complete tripod with panhead, designed to do double-duty for both compact point and shoot cameras as well as video cameras. Its maximum upper leg diameter is 22mm, and it is rated for use with equipment weighing up to 3.3 pounds (1.5kg).
Slik focuses on the intelligence in their designs, and not just the raw support. The flip-lock levers here are a cut above the usual grade, with decidedly great action for a tripod most would classify as inexpensive. The F630 also has a geared center column with adjustable tension, allowing you to make fine adjustments to camera position in macro shooting without having to recompose the entire image (as you likely would with a 'rapid' column).
Keep the light stuff on the F630, and you'll be happy with its performance as a light class travel tripod.

I needed a lightweight tripod to take around with me for use with my new Nikon 7000.
I have others but they are studio tripods and heavy to carry.
I chose this one because it is made by Slik, a first class name. It fits my needs perfectly and is very well made. The price is right also despite its light weight it is sturdy and stable.
I can recommend it.

does not hold up the weight it claims to hold. the pan head is weak, extremely weak. I am giving mine away and looking into a better one. I am disappointed with Slik as a whole, i've had other experiences with slik tripods and they've been great, this one...not so much. I understand its cheap but it doesnt do what it claims. So it is terrible.

I was looking for a tripod to replace another I purchased a couple of years ago that was cheaply-made. While the F360 is far from pro or top of the line, it is solid enough for occasional use by the amateur / enthusiast for a great price. Much better than other similar-priced tripods I looked at. I am very satisfied with this product.
