The Singh-Ray LB Warming Circular Polarizer is the next bold and innovative step in Singh-Ray's development of polarizing filters. This filter has increased its light transmission capacity by 60% - no small endeavor. Basically, they're talking about a 2/3 stop increase in brightness.
This filter also has a warming element to it which can help when it is either overcast or if you're shooting in open shade.
Light rays which are reflected become polarized. Polarizing filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colors providing better contrast.
The effect can be seen through the viewfinder and changed by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies according to how the filter is rotated and its orientation to the sun.
Note! Circular polarizers are specifically designed for use with auto-focus SLR cameras (They will also work on manual systems and video cameras without problems)

Comments about Singh-Ray 77mm LB Warming Circular Polarizer (Thin Mount):
A friend once said, 'put a low quality filter on a high quality lens and you will get mediocre results'. So when in came time to buy filters, I went right to Singh-Ray. As a portrait & nature photographer, I began using it in the natural world with exceptional results! Then tried it for a portrait shoot with with a fair-skinned caucasian family. This really blew me away! The results were outstanding, magazine quality, very natural tones & depth. The filter fits onto the lens smoothly and the movable ring glides easily to adjust warming tonality. I highly recommend this LB warming circular polarizer!

Comments about Singh-Ray 77mm LB Warming Circular Polarizer (Thin Mount):
I recently lost one of these to the rocky coastline of Maine as a gust of wind knocked over my tripod. "Luckily" this was the only item to be damaged. However, as a landscape photographer, I found I could not go another day without this filter so, despite the high price tag, I bought another for my 28mm Zeiss. I love this filter! Your lens is only as good as its cheapest element, and I am confident to say I would keep this on my lens indefinitely! Colors are GREAT! Glass and ring are of excellent construction! Highly recommended! PS Try this bad boy on a sunrise/sunset!

Comments about Singh-Ray 77mm LB Warming Circular Polarizer (Thin Mount):
First off, I own the Singh-Ray Vari-N-Trio. It's a great filter but it's extremely expensive and the vignetting is so strong that you need to zoom out to 35mm so that you don't get black corners. I thought I could keep it on my lens the whole time and use it on the minimum density when not doing long exposures, but even then it still cuts of 4 stops of light and as I couldn't use the filter at 24mm.
So, needless to say I wanted a thin polarizer that didn't cut out too much light and that I could use at 24mm wihtout strong vignetting. Why didn't I buy the LB Color Combo? Two reasons. Price and light. 400$ for the thin mount is a lot of money. 240$ is still pricey but is much more reasonable. I like the touch that the color intensifier adds, but you can get a similiar effect in photoshop. The warming effect on this polarizer is neet and counters the cool look that some polarizers have. Also, Having a polarizer than only cut out 1 1/3 stops of light is great (the Color Combo cuts out 2 stops)! That way you can either keep the polarizer on when the light gets low or you can still keep the filter on when you need a fast shutter speed (for example, bird in flight)
For handheld shots this filter is a must. These filters are very well built as they are all made by hand. You get what you pay for.

Comments about Singh-Ray 77mm LB Warming Circular Polarizer (Thin Mount):
I use this filter most of the time for daylight landscape and even for outdoor portraiture. I love it for the extra light it allows to come in, and for the warmish tone it conveys. The thin mount is quite effective on a "EF-S 10-22mm" (@10mm on a cropped body) and on a "EF 17-40mm f/4L" (@17mm on a ff body) as well. The downside is: it's a bit expensive, and you can't use your regular lens cap to protect it (buy a push-on lens cap).

Great product. Easy to use/clean, and seems durable. The Lighter/Brighter feature is actually really amazing. I don't think I'll buy a filter without it ever again. No more daytime tripods!

I needed a new polarizer filter and decided to take the plunge and purchase one with a warming effect. So glad I did. This beauty allows more light in and is perfect to soften those harsh, bright light conditions. My fall/autumn shots greatly improved in appearance.

Comments about Singh-Ray 77mm LB Warming Circular Polarizer (Thin Mount):
This is a great filter that has to be in your bag. I like the warm added by the warming component of the filter. Although it is a thin mount, beware that it will still vignette at 19mm or less on my Nikon 16-35mm f4.0 lens. For the most part this is not an issue since shots involving the sky shouldn't be polarized anyway at these extreme wide angle settings but it is an issue for foliage shots.

Comments about Singh-Ray 77mm LB Warming Circular Polarizer (Thin Mount):
Singh-Ray makes great filters but the information does not tell you that you cannot use a snap-on lens cap with the thin mount filter. There is nothing for the cap to snap onto. Otherwise it is a great polarizer and warming filter.
Comments about Singh-Ray 77mm LB Warming Circular Polarizer (Thin Mount):
Best polarizer I have used. Allows much more light to the sensor than most polarizers allowing for better use in low light situations.
