The Astatic 727-18 Miniature Dynamic Gooseneck Microphone is a cost effective, quality gooseneck microphone that reproduces speech with pristine results. The 18" (457mm) gooseneck provides quiet, stable maneuverability and features a 3-pin XLR connection at the base.
The capsule features a dynamic transducer and doesn't require any external power to operate. Its cardioid polar pattern rejects unwanted off-axis audio while providing a 120° pick up pattern. The hardened wind screen resists dents, scratches, etc.

Installed 11 these in a corporate board room enviroment. Quality per price is as expected compared to more expensive models. I was worried about feedback having them installed in close proximity of speakers. The cardoid performs well. I did have to install a feedback filter though.. that fixed the problem.

I don't do any recording with this, but you could. I use it with my Astatic 40-116 Portable Desk Base for Gooseneck Microphones in my studio when recording voice overs. I use it to talk to the person in the sound booth. It works great. Clean audio.
