This Impact Diffuser Sock is a heat-resistant (see note), 11" nylon fabric light softener ringed with strong elastic for a snug fit around metal strobe head reflectors. The diffuser softens the light output and reduces it by 1 stop.
Diffuser Socks are stackable, offering the opportunity to increase the diffusion effect while reducing the light output.
Note! Intended for use on flash heads or fluorescent sources. Do not use on continuous hot light sources.

Does the job it's designed to do, and well. I wouldn't use a high wattage modeling lamp continuously in it's presence though. You could, for long enough to see the lights effect if needed, then remove the bulb. Produces a pleasant soft light. And as always, be aware of spill. Bring a barndoor along. You will most likely need it.

I am a fashion/beauty photographer and I shoot with Speedotron brown series equipment. It is extremely hard to find socks that will fit the 11 inch reflector. It worked well, just wish that impact would give just approximately an extra inch so the diffuser would have just a little bit of give.

I used to use diffusing sheets and acrylic. This is far superior. It is inexpensive, easy, and folds up to take no space. I use it on inexpensive 10.5" clamp lights from the hardware store.

I purchased the 10" diffuser sock. It does its job diffusing the light adequately, and can sustain the heat produced by the 23w florescent bulb I have in the reflector. However, the bulb touches the diffuser, so I had to tape some cardboard to the reflector to prevent the diffuser from touching the bulb.I would recommend using a larger diffuser and reflector for larger bulbs. I feel like[$] was high for the 10" sock.
