The PR 35 from Heil Sound is a professional-quality handheld dynamic microphone ideal for live vocal performances. The large dynamic element has a special magnet structure and a low mass aluminum voice coil assembly to provide a smooth, flat frequency response with natural and articulate midrange.

The mic element is mounted on an internal Sorbothane shock mount to reduce the effects of handling noise, while the external rubberized coating provides a comfortable gripping surface that also reduces noise. A specially-placed hum bucking coil rejects hum and buzz, making it safe to use this mic near video monitors. The evenly-spaced ports on the mic body reject off-axis noise, providing a linear cardioid pattern that reduces proximity effect. A 3-position rolloff switch lets you choose flat, -3dB, or -6dB rolloff. A mic clip and leatherette carrying case are included.

I have owned DOZENS of microphones. Lots of good ones out there. BUT, this surpasses everything, clarity, warmth, ballads, rock, studio voice overs, wow...

Comments about Heil Sound PR 35 Handheld Dynamic Cardioid Microphone (Black):

Performer in an acoustic trio, three part harmony, guitar, djembe and accordion. We perform classic rock covers, plenty of CSN. Purchased one to see if it lived up to the hype and it does, these mics are very articulate. We had been using condenser mice for vocals and had reliability issues with all of the setting up and tearing down. Performed one night and invested in a full set of them. When we play on house systems, the owner and engineer come over and want to know all about it. Big Difference! Every band has members that want the vocalist to invest in something. Bring some game to the table. These mics are worth the investment and contribute to our pro sound package. If you have a low end PA, don't bother to buy one. A great mic cannot fix a signal chain. If you have a quality PA, these will make it sing better.Three of them, no problem over year one. Case is nice, but it is big and bulky. Mic fits in very securely.

Comments about Heil Sound PR 35 Handheld Dynamic Cardioid Microphone (Black):

I'm using the PR-35 for lead vocals, so far at 2 rehearsals and one gig. My voice sounds full and clear through it, and there is plenty of headroom before feedback. It seems to be rock solid, the carrying case is very protective too. Very nice live mic all around. It's replaced all my other go to mics. I haven't tried recording it yet, we'll see what that's like eventually - I'm interested to hear it on a guitar cab and snare. The only con I have is that the mic clip it came with doesn't hold onto it tightly - you are better off using a Shure or EV clip.
