Comments about Olympus PC Transcription Kit (AS-2400):
This is just a standard office transcription footpad and software. This works fine with the recordings made with the Olympus DS-5000 recorder. The transcription package specific to the DS-5000 is 3x the cost and really adds only the ability to received emailed recordings which we won't typically use.

Comments about Olympus PC Transcription Kit (AS-2400):
For my job I have to transcribe long interviews. This product was a great investment that is saving me a lot of time. Like most transcription software, I can slow the voice that I'm transcribing down to 60% of its speed. However, the foot pedal is what is the most helpful. By keeping my hands free and using my foot to start, stop, and rewind the recording, I can transcribe much faster. The only thing I've encountered is that the foot pedal got stuck once and I had to restart the program to un-stuck it. Also I usually work with WAV files, but had to convert all of them to MP3's. In all, a great investment.
